In 1994, Al Cowlings led California police on a two-hour plus low-speed chase over 75 miles of Los Angeles freeways as OJ Simpson held a gun to his head in the back seat.
Normally you would expect police chases to unfold at high speeds but this was different - it was a media spectacle complete with spectators on overpasses cheering it along.
As with police chases, one would normally expect political coups to progress at rapid speed to have a chance of working.
Instead, what we are seeing, like the white Bronco chase, is a slow, prolonged and determined effort to overthrow the results of the November presidential elections - with millions of deranged liberals cheering it on.
We had a farcical recount request by a fourth-place finisher that somehow still got over seven million dollars in funding, even though that recount had no chance of succeeding - and that only uncovered probable Dem ballot stuffing in Detroit.
We saw a concerted effort to intimidate Trump electors. But the so-called Hamilton elector movement managed to peel more votes away from Hillary than it did from Trump.
We have seen the media embrace partisanship, lies and fake news to attempt to discredit Trump, and no longer making any attempt to put forth a fig leaf of impartiality.
And now the intelligence community is stepping forward to paint Trump as a Putin puppet, using nameless sources and material that is clearly bogus to the most casual of impartial observers - but those who question such are labeled traitors.
And this is just the pregame warmups. Mobs of liberals are swarming social media, demanding Trump impeachment proceedings start at 12:01pm on January 20th because Trump is a rich guy who will use the office to further enrich his family. Never mind they were willing to vote for a candidate who used the Secretary of State office to enrich her family.
Make no mistake, this will be a prolonged coup attempt. They have one goal - remove Donald Trump from office by any means necessary.
Be ready for years of such actions, with what is left of the GOP-E willing to entertain joining them if they feel they can get away with it.
It is our job to make sure the GOP-E never gets to that point.
If Trump does something truly wrong, then he should face the music - a standard the Dems never upheld with Clinton and Obama. This should not be an effort to protect Trump from any actual impeachable offense, but to make sure he is not overthrown by actions of nameless intelligence officers spinning false narratives in the media, narratives such as Russian blackmail that could peel off weak-kneed Republicans not as far around the bend as McCain and Graham.
Any Republican officeholder who shows an inclination to join the coup needs to realize that the forces that drove Trump to the White House can also drive them out of the Senate or House.
Period. For too many politicians, that is the only appeal to reason they are willing to consider. Use it.
My advice to McStain and his Mini-Me, Lintseed, resign before the heat gets hotter.

I think McCain is badly damaged on this. He was alleged to have been a collaborating snake in Vietnam. To see a US Senator taking this hoax to the CIA and actually thinking it would work is beyond my wildest assertions of his total lack of character. I urge him to resign.

I saw the AAA-version of this in Wisconsin. Walker kept on intrtucing more reforms and the same cast of suspects couldn’t deal with them all. Also, the apolitical types get tired of this stuff if it goes on and on. Walker won his recall by more than he won the original election.
Trump’s style, as opposed to Gov. Walker’s Mr. Rogers persona which couldn’t possibly be cast as a credible bogey man, plays well to the situation because he calls bluffs, won’t be bullied, and as president has more levers he can pull. He has also been exceptional at introducing fissures in the Democrats’ alliances, at the cost of introducing some in Republican ranks, a net gain, and a way to get good things done.
McCain needs to go even we have to let a Democrat take the seat. At least then we will be spared McCain being trotted out whenever the media wants to falsely portray some Dim initiative as “bipartisan.”
