One of the biggest surprises in my research was to discover that Cole Porter wrote the country classic "Don't Fence Me In" as part of a soundtrack for a film that was never produced. Roy Rogers turned it into a hit, and then it went global. Cole thought of it as a joke.

That's not booked for this weekend, but "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" is on the menu for Saturday night.

My brother just left. We worked thru a couple things I had on a list.

He leaves tomorrow for an 8 - 10 week hitch on the slope. Check the temps for Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. By Thursday it should be a high of -14, and that’s the highest it will get for at least a week. He works both inside and outside.
