Uber Left Britons still think that Reagan-Thatcher are going to blow up the world.
They think that the joy among Russians, Poles, Ukranians, Czechs, East Germans, et al when the Soviet Union collapsed was false hope and propaganda...
More winning!
"Well, stay off of this stuff then, that's the curse of you people."
If it’s Olivia Wilde, she’s a barking moonbat lib of the first order.
Irish.
Touché !

Besides U2 is Dutch, well at least that’s what it says on their tax records.
I got dragged to see them at the Spectrum in Philly 30 years ago. I liked Lone Justice, the opening band, much better.
Oh get over youself you Northern Irish political what ever message is when you,”Boner” in bed with Obama, Springsteen, Streep. Get out of the way and watch what deal hope and change is.
While I agree with the sentiment, that U2 are getting tiresome and have been for at least a decade, the answer you received in Northern Ireland could well have been political and/or religious. U2 are from the Republic Of Ireland.
There is that bit of hypocrisy...
It was a total PR disaster.
I used to like the band a lot and saw them in concert back in the early days but they took a very bad turn over the last 10 years or so.
Nope. My friend was all about the music and not politics or religion.
We only ever talked about music.
Maybe they’ll write some albums as good as “Boy”, “October” and “War” like thru did on the 80’s. Their last good albums.
I’ll admit to having been a huge fan of them in my youth. Less of one now, but still have this to say in their defense. I studied in Ireland while in college (1996) and I was struck at how much more the Irish pay attention to and care about political events in other countries than we do, at least for college students.
So it may not be just another anti-Trump celebrity bloviating as commenting on our political events is much more a part of their culture than it is for us to follow their politics. There is also still an emotional aspect (a holdover from the mystic Ireland of old?) in how events are interpreted, almost a poetic framework of interpretation. This is what I see in his statements.
I couldn’t even tell you the name of their president or any major policy change in their country. I do know that last year Ireland was listed as the European country least friendly to Muslims.
And now I will sit back and take my lumps for this. I have teenagers who remind me how wrong I am on a daily basis so I’m ready for the same here.
Would be a fairer complaint if the US government wasn’t up to its eyeballs in unwarranted interference in the affairs of every other country on the planet.
