Former Secretary of State James Baker on Sunday warned that President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration “cannot be Israel’s lawyer” if it expects to successfully broker peace in the Arab/Israeli conflict.
In an interview aired Sunday on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS, Baker said he hopes Trump “will immerse himself” in the issue of peace in the Middle East because “it takes leadership at the very top of America’s government if that’s got any chance of succeeding.” […]

During the time Baker was around I remember a cartoon in the local newspaper and it had a picture of Assad of Syria (papa Assad) and it said “Yes, we want to make piece with Israel... Many pieces” Nothing has changed.

Actually a lot has changed. The real conflict in the middle east is between KSA and Iran fighting proxy wars with each other(Syria and Yemen) while Turkey makes noises about getting the Ottoman empire back together. Israel has an unofficial alliance with the KSA and Egypt against Iran.
The Palestinians are vermin. Back to Jordan with them.

I like the way you think, and agree completely. No more long drawn out games. Just win this thing and get it over with. And if a bunch of Arabs get killed in the process, they brought it upon themselves, so be it. Too much Jewish blood has been spilled in previous "brokered solutions".

If James Baker knows so much, how come he didn’t fix it? The so called “peace process” is a pathetic joke.
Say what you will about Baker, but the fact that he’s on the opposite side of this issue from notorious RINO jerks like Lindsey Graham and John McCain is a huge point in his favor.
