Actually a lot has changed. The real conflict in the middle east is between KSA and Iran fighting proxy wars with each other(Syria and Yemen) while Turkey makes noises about getting the Ottoman empire back together. Israel has an unofficial alliance with the KSA and Egypt against Iran.
It goes way beyond politics and regional conflicts of the past decades. Names and alliances may have changed but the hatred of the Jewish people has not whether we are talking Antiochus Epiphanes, Hitler, King John of Castile, the expulsion from Spain, and so on.
