Hopefully Trump will tweet and instagram this to get the word out and to make the connection that this is because of his policies!

Short-term Mexican government bribe costs vs. long-term labor savings.

>> “Auto industry is in a recession.” <<

Only the part of it that makes little blister cars and egg cars.

Big real SUVs and big pickups are selling like crazy, even in the face of very high prices.

Only fools want the ugly, impractical little bumps on wheels.

CAFE has to be completely repealed to bring sanity to the auto market.

This is hogwash. Toyota manages to sell a lot of U.S. made (small) fuel efficient cars.

Toyota builds their U.S.-made cars in right-to-work states with non-union labor. Ford does not have the option to do this because their UAW contracts cover any production facilities in the U.S. -- which means they would have to hire UAW workers in Alabama or South Carolina even if they were not required to do this under state law.

The decision by Ford may have been a result of capital concerns, rather than anything Trump said, or might do. It costs a lot to start up a new manufacturing facility, even in Mexico.

How stupid do you think Ford's leadership is, that they wouldn't know this already? They had a $1.9 billion Mexican production facility in the works for several years. Do you think they suddenly learned last week that this was going to require a huge capital investment?

Trump blasts General Motors: Make Chevy Cruze model in US or ‘pay big border tax’

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3510265/posts

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday attacked General Motors in a tweet, claiming the auto giant is making a Chevy Cruze model in Mexico and then sending them to U.S. dealers tax free.

I think Mexico is gonna start negotiating now.

If anyone thinks that Ford would cancelled moving plant to Mexico if Hillary had won the election, they are delusional.

Let me see. I would guess that their “high level source” was the receptionist at CNBC.

No, instead I'm waiting for you to explain it to me... They DID just make this decision, didn't they?

“If Michigan could become a right to work state they would be better off, perhaps the people of Michigan have become ENLIGHTENED enough to make this happen!!!! “

You never watch the news? MI became RTW several years ago.

Here’s an interview with a Ford executive. He says that Trump’s pro-growth policies are a large factor in them staying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2l9i1_X9NQ

Whatever amount of winning you can't handle; just shovel it over to me. I'm a glutton for punishment....that kind, anyhow. 😊

Isn’t it interesting that unions supported Dems so vehemently when it took a GOP President Elect to actually represent their interests?

Wages will be higher, but with the business tax cuts and deregulation Trump plans, that evens out the playing field.

There is very little manufacturing infrastructure support in Texas.

There’s tons of it in the rust belt.

San Antonio especially and Texas generally has millions of Toyota Tundras (50K!) on the road because we appreciate their plants.

I had to open plants in North and South Carolina a while back and we had to explain to Texas staff assisting that the new employees there weren’t being paid exorbitantly, judging by the parking lots full of BMWs: they and/or their spouses worked at the plants and great incentive deals.

Imagine the new auto buying boom in MI! and the parts suppliers moving back. Turning MI, WI and PA hard red right now is essential to deliver the final blow to the RATS for 2020, where we’ll be able to crossover and choose their candidate for them, anyway!
