The chilly December wind whipped rain across the strewn wreckage of a city that, nearly 3,000 years ago, ruled almost the entire Middle East. Rivulets of water ran through the dirt, washing away chunks of ancient stone.
The city of Nimrud in northern Iraq is in pieces, victim of the Islamic State group's fervor to erase history. The remains of its palaces and temples, once lined in brilliant reliefs of gods and kings, have been blown up. The statues of winged bulls that once guarded the site are hacked to bits. Its towering ziggurat, or step pyramid, has been bulldozed.

Islam is a pox on the world. Its ideology, at its core, is violent and extremely anti-intellectual. Taken to extremes, its results are pure evil.
And they give Western countries grief for ‘looting’ the sites and putting them on display in museums.
And it truly is a crime against humanity.
Like the Nazis, we must hunt down and kill every last one of them.
Taken to extremes in this case is exactly what it's "prophet" did to establish his evil desire. Islam is an "extreme" philosophy. It is NOT a religion in the traditional meaning of the word. It was established through murder and beheading. The more brutal the murder the better as far as Muhammad was concerned. That IS the movement! It is not extreme anymore than my going to church on Sunday is "extreme". It is what it is and we had better begin dealing with it with "extreme" measures!
Islam: Destroying Civilization since 618
According to some history reports-
before muhammed came along middle easterners were by and large a peaceful people coexisting with other nations without resorting to terrorism or violence- they infact had oen of the largest libraries and ‘learning center’s in the world- along comes muhammed and he destroys their library and learning center- imposes severe restrictions on them and introduces a violent religion of murder and terrorism
Thank God for the things we were able to get into museums. Savages.

Idiocy from the so-called experts:
“The motive behind the destruction is also unclear. The ziggurat ruins were the highest point in the surrounding Nineveh plains and could serve as an ideal defensive position, yet the site is in a remote area far from strategic locations. “We’re seeing a lot of really peculiar activity like this in Islamic State-held territory,” says Danti.”
“The Islamic State may have destroyed the ziggurat for the same reasons that may have motivated earlier deliberate destructions at the site: to demoralize local populations and demonstrate a scorched-earth bravado in the face of oncoming military forces determined to liberate Mosul.”

We finally found our way to a loaned exhibit on Persian Art in a wing of their fabulous art museum which wasn't so overcrowded that we could actually see something.
People marveled at the pre 700 ad exhibits of art and sculpture which were the equal of anything produced in Ancient Greece, Rome or even the Renaissance. After that time, they took a noticeable decline. There was a lot of murmurs and wonderment in the crowd. Finally, one little boy spoke up and asked "What happened to Persia then?" to nobody in particular. Since I was in earshot, I replied "That was when Islam took over there."
You could have heard a pin drop.
Islamic scholars will simply explain that, contrary to consensus history, this area has always been a central holy place for muslims who have authority directly from God to destroy as much of it as they want.
That is a SICKENING photo!
And now that's all that's left.
Good for you.
I hope that gave everyone who heard something to think about for a LONG time.
It is.
One thing I wonder though, is whether this complete destruction was prophesied in Scripture.
