Mike Rowe has been known to speak his mind on several issues here in America. However, his most recent outburst is a result of the suffering job market, and he explained exactly why its been happening with one blunt word that will undoubtedly infuriate liberals.
The American job market has been suffering for years. There are many people out of work, unable to make ends meet. However, former host of Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe, recently exposed why our countrys job market is suffering, and he did it with one brutal word that has gotten whiny libs infuriated all because the truth hurts.
Rowe admitted that the U.S. job market is suffering not for lack of opportunity, but because American workers are just spoiled. If weve learned anything from the events following this years presidential election, its that there are many whiny, entitled, brats roaming our nation.
According to Young Cons, Rowe recalled that he kept hearing reports of joblessness across the country. However, when he would go perform dirty, blue-collar work for his television program, he would often see help wanted signs along the way, indicating that there are blue collar positions available everywhere theyre just not the jobs people think they deserve.
According to The Blaze, there are nearly 100 million people not in the labor force today. Sadly, many of these entitled brats could land themselves a well-paying blue collar job anywhere across America, but because they feel they are more qualified or deserve a white collar job, they would rather collect unemployment or merely be unpaid than to accept a blue collar position. They want to get paid good money, but they want to do it without getting their hands dirty.
Clearly, America has a growing problem: entitlement. When your family is suffering, you do whatever it takes to get food on the table and pay your bills even if it means accepting a dirty job when youve previously been in positions higher up on the corporate ladder. Personally, the people who work these blue collar jobs are the people who keep America thriving, and if a few more people got their hands dirty, our country could quite possibly be in a completely different situation.
Like my dear, departed Dad used to say, “You don’t want a job, you want a position”.
Around here, size-wise, huge Help Wanted signs - Office Depot; Menards; Wendy’s and, a bazillions little signs about factory & warehouse help needed. Fork lift drivers\mechanics needed.
If I was looking for a job and didn’t have one ? It’s my fault.
I will admit I occasionally watch his show and find it mostly interesting.
Yep.
My kids all have jobs. One son is in engineering school. He spent the last
Two summers working as a carpenter.
He worked hard. His boss was a little “angry” that he just got an engineerIn internship. (Not really but he has a really hard time getting good workers)
I’ll give him two words. Wall Street.
I have a friend that owns a plastics molding business outside of Cincinati. He was so desperate for workers that he put an appeal out on Facebook for his friends to send him any kid that was willing to show up to work on time. No prior experience required.
I don't see this where I live. Not a lot of blue collar jobs to be had.
Seems to me employers bitch about "lazy" Americans when they can't get people for the money they are paying. It is called supply and demand. I think there is blame enough to go around. If Americans lazy then business owners are greedy. See how that works?
Not so much spoiled.
Illegal aliens took most of the minimum wage jobs away such as in construction and fast food. Most restaurants seem to only employ illegal alien kitchen staff.
When the minimum wage jobs were lost to illegal aliens, what jobs were left for the 16-19 year old crowd??
The me-first culture has begotten anti-family sentiments. Without responsibility for others there can be no maturity.
I guess it never occurred to him to raise the salary to attract more applicants/workers.
There’s some truth in the word spoiled.
My father-in-law is on the same track. He says the issue is “air conditioning.”
Many don’t want outdoor jobs.
The solution is to direct more students to vocational training. Even better, go back to shop and other job skill classes in all high schools, so students are actually qualified to do something.
The Education Nazis would not like that.
It’s been a LONG eight years. I had to stop all news and let my sanity get restored.
I guess I see both sides.
I’m currently employed but have been checking the job boards for a few months. Sure there are jobs - if you want to take a buck above minimum wage.
Now if you’re a kid just starting out, that’s great, but if you’ve ever worked anywhere before, those jobs may as well not exist unless you’re desperate.
Funny, though. I hear from a lot of employers that they can’t fill their positions - including at my own company. But when I suggest maybe they ought to raise the salary, they act like I’m from another planet. It turns out that most don’t want employees all that badly as not one has raised their salary for these “unfillable” jobs.
We have a fairly good size open mall with about two dozen businesses from Home Depot, Chain Grocery store, Office Depot, Target and basically every fast food outlet.
After labor day, every store has had a hiring help sign by the doors and inside. We get asked by store clerks, cashiers and managers if we know anyone who wants to go to work at basically any age. We get offered jobs at our 70+ ages.
Basically, every restaurant in the county from fast food to high end foodie places are looking for help.
The several counties around Gay Frisco have a lot of wineries. This year, they had a hard time finding workers for the grape picking, crush and post crush in spite of offering wages from 2 X minimum wages and more for experienced crush workers. People, who don’t like hard work stay away from the wineries. If you know how to spell/pronounce wine and know the difference between red and white wine, you can get jobs in tasting rooms over the minimum wages. Any experience can get you double the minimum wage.
