Around here, size-wise, huge Help Wanted signs - Office Depot; Menards; Wendy’s and, a bazillions little signs about factory & warehouse help needed. Fork lift drivers\mechanics needed.
If I was looking for a job and didn’t have one ? It’s my fault.
We have a fairly good size open mall with about two dozen businesses from Home Depot, Chain Grocery store, Office Depot, Target and basically every fast food outlet.
After labor day, every store has had a hiring help sign by the doors and inside. We get asked by store clerks, cashiers and managers if we know anyone who wants to go to work at basically any age. We get offered jobs at our 70+ ages.
Basically, every restaurant in the county from fast food to high end foodie places are looking for help.
The several counties around Gay Frisco have a lot of wineries. This year, they had a hard time finding workers for the grape picking, crush and post crush in spite of offering wages from 2 X minimum wages and more for experienced crush workers. People, who don’t like hard work stay away from the wineries. If you know how to spell/pronounce wine and know the difference between red and white wine, you can get jobs in tasting rooms over the minimum wages. Any experience can get you double the minimum wage.
For many jobs you need some skills and perhaps experience. Neither can be gotten easily, on short notice. That said most of the young kids in my auto tech classes seem more interested in messing about with their cell phone and goofing off. It’s pretty sad, only a couple really want to excel.
If you don’t mind could you tell me what part of what state?
I have thought about compiling different areas where there is work O’plenty.
In my state i tell young men just starting out, who are not afraid to go where the work is, to go to Allentown,Pa...plenty of entry level warehouse and other work there.
I have heard there is a warehouse hub, simular to allentown, in NC..?
