After coming under attack, the alternative media successfully appropriated and reassigned the now ubiquitous term “fake news” to a variety of disingenuous mainstream media outlets. The corporate media is not too happy about this, and is doing what it does best (aside from cheerleading for war). It’s whining about it to its readers.
Nothing more perfectly highlights the mainstream media’s instinctual response to complain than an article published on Christmas Day in The New York Times, which reinvents history by claiming alternative media is to blame for turning “fake news” into an overly expansive and thus meaningless term. Here are a few excerpts:

I’m pretty sure that well over 50% of Americans really think Sarah Palin said this. The media celebrates this sort of fake news. They use it to destroy Republicans all the time.
Yup. Fake news has been a discussion topic among conservatives for many, many years. Our campaign against it was finally showing results which is why the left had no choice but to try to hijack it and turn it back on the right.
But they’re losing this fight because we tell the truth and now we have Trump to help us message around the establishment filters. If we can just get people to listen for a minute, many will help us MAGA.

Maybe they should bring in a media expert to weigh in on this - Dan Rather, “Fake, but Accurate”.
Yep, there’s a website www.nomorefakenews.com I think I heard that guy has been there for about 15 years. LOL
They even fake the weather reports to hype the ratings.
We need to institute penalties for fake news- fines are appropriate.
MSM-fake news is all they do.

This is the best proof that the mainstream media has lost all credibility. They were hoping to regain control over the narrative after the election, hoping we had moved on after victory. It turns out that enough of their listeners are too sophisticated to be fooled. “Fake but accurate” is not going to fly, particularly if they skip the “accurate” part.
The MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.
Fake news has been around since the Gutenberg printing press. Just gone by different names.
As long as people keep breaking the 9th Commandment, there will be fake news.
Wanna know where fake news comes from? Find the person who put out the the thirteen year old picture of Trayvon Martin and said he was just out for some Skittles...Find the person who rigged the truck gas tank to explode... Find the person who put out the story of the Benghazi video. In other words MSM, look in the mirror.
