Democrats Lost Over 1,000 Seats Under Obama

December 27, 2016

President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run – but even if he's right, his coattails haven’t done much for the rest of his party.

While Obama’s tireless campaigning, broad demographic appeal and message of “hope” and “change” helped propel him to two terms in the White House, his skills on the stump haven’t translated down the ballot.

The Democratic Party suffered huge losses at every level during Obama’s West Wing tenure.

The grand total: a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts, including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships and the presidency.

The latter was perhaps the most profound example of Obama's popularity failing to translate to support for his allies. Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of state under Obama, brought the first family out for numerous campaign appearances. In September, Obama declared that his “legacy’s on the ballot.”

Less than two months later, Americans voted for Donald Trump.

The loss of power of dems over the Obama nightmare only proved one thing to me. Voter fraud in 2012 put him in for his second term. No other explanation for it.

“The Kenyan is gone.”

He will never truly be gone. He will find a way to be in everybodies face until the end of his days

1000 Democrat seats lost under Obama. That’s a good start.

Let’s see if we can rack up another 1000 under Trump!

It is going to be interesting to see what does happen after January 20, if/when Obama openly challenges the sitting President.

Unlike former chiefs-of-state, the new one will likely send the former one a message loud and clear that the former one is no longer the sitting president.

Trump should fire every single one of Obama’s appointee on his very first day in office.

That’s what Clinton did and the press said not a word.

Bush II didn’t and the Clintonistas harassed and sabotaged him for the better part of a decade.

Let the press scream. Keep them screaming. It’s just noise and they are making too much already, so it will be just like the boy who cried wolf. They are crying wolf at full volume now.

President Trump: Fire every single Democrat you can. Every single judge. Every single appointee. Everyone who was not with you.

Every. Last. One.
No exceptions.

"President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run."

Where are the editorials denouncing this un-presidential and unseemly boasting? What, there aren't any?

"If the AG Sessions were to sieze the California Voter Registration database, I GUARANTEE you there are at least 2 Million ILLEGAL ALIEN VOTES."

I think that's an overstatement, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were two or three million illegal votes nationwide. But the media seem to be suggesting that it's crazy to think that there were ANY illegal votes, and there is no way they will look into the issue.

At the very least, I would guess there were close to a million illegal votes. If there are 10-20 million illegals, it seems likely that at least 5-10% of them voted. Millions have been here for years, and live in jurisdictions that would like to see them vote and would do nothing to stop it.

DJT may need to be further schooled re: IRS, I don’t know.

The IRS/taxing earnings is a “progressive” concept designed to impoverish citizens. The fact that in their instructions, it says “voluntary compliance” tells me those who created it knew very well what was constitutionally compliant and what wasn’t.

“Fair tax” would remove the progressive element, but the FF never saw the need to tax earnings. Revenues were raised through tariffs and that was enough to fund the very limited Fed Gov’t, as it was supposed to be.

IMO, that’s the pure ideal I’d love to see restored, in a free republic. : )

It might be an overstatement, but at the moment I would prefer to believe that we have illegal aliens voting their own self interest over the alternate possibility; that we have millions of Californians who are so F***ing stupid that they vote liberal all the time.

I expect the truth is somewhere in between.

The fact that they reelected Pelosi to minority leader tells me they are doubling down on their failed policies, not rethinking them. Why would you elect an ancient liberal relic to minority leader status if you had doubts about the party platform? I do think there will be some who push back against Obama but most of them are pining for the Bill Clinton days when they had a charismatic leader that not only the party, but the country got behind. They are deluding themselves if they think Obama is charismatic.

Absolutely agree. Somehow we must persuade President Trump to do exactly as you’re suggesting. One of the great gains to be made by doing so is the enormous humiliation the Democrats would suffer in the eyes of people all over the world. I believe this humiliation would seriously diminish not only their personal credibility but the credibility of their fundamental political and social ideology.
