Christmas weekend in Chicago has already seen more gun violence than it did during the entire Christmas weekend last year.
Nine men were killed and at least 24 other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening, according to Chicago Police.
Last year, a total of 30 people were shot in Chicago over the holiday weekend, leaving six dead.

Like one elder in my family said. Give them drugs and guns and watch them kill each other. Stupid is as stupid does.
How many rounds were fired to hit those 33 people? I’ve heard that the best thing for gun “safety” was the popularization of the sideways gangsta style grip rather than proper use of gunsights.
Since you posted the article (around midnight), the numbers have climbed to 43 shot, 11 fatally.
One must remember the rules:
1. If there is no problem, there is no federal $$ to solve it forthcoming.
2. The solution is always “we are doing the right things, we need more $$ to implement our solution successfully”.
3. If there is no problem we must use policies that create a problem.
4. See rule number one.
Yeah, XMAS holiday isn’t over, that report was 6pm yesterday.
They are trying to break 800 before the end of the year. They will make it or come close.
Looks like they are “shooting” for a record.
They lost too many through attrition last year so it’ll be hard to meet the challenge.
Notice the community organizer didn’t fix the problem when he was there. Didn’t fix it when he was Senator. Didn’t bother going back when he was POTUS. And is staying in DC rather than going home in January. Yeah, real concerned with hometown troubles:
