Captain Or Ben-Yehuda of the Israeli Defense Forces has cemented a legacy that will endure well past her lifetime. The young, decorated IDF Captain was in charge of a company of soldiers when they were violently attacked by nearly two dozen terrorists near the Egyptian border.
Due to her leadership and bravery, she and her men were able to survive. Captain Ben-Yehuda was in charge of the Caracal Battalion which was stationed near the Israeli / Egyptian border. Three suspicious vehicles quickly approached the battalions position and Captain Ben-Yehuda along with a driver went to check them out.
As they approached the first vehicle, nearly two dozen armed men opened fire on their position in an ambush attack. Both Captain Ben-Yehuda and her driver were immediately shot in the volley of gunfire.
Despite suffering from a gunshot wound, Captain Ben-Yehuda managed to get on the radio and call for backup, administer first aid to her driver and return several magazines worth of gunfire back at her attackers.
Backup, in the form of several vehicles full of IDF soldiers, arrived on scene, the wounded Captain commanded the responding soldiers and positioned her men to effectively fight back the terrorists.
At this point it was obvious the IDF was going to be able to push back the armed group, and medical personnel wanted to evacuate Captain Ben-Yehuda to treat her gunshot wounds. However, she was unwilling to leave the battlefield until all of the fighting was done.
For her actions and bravery, Captain Ben-Yehuda was awarded Israels highest honor, the Medal of Valor.

I was in Vietnam with armored cavalry. I know that the presence of women would have been a definite detriment there.
(No trigger-finger discipline...)
The more-staged one on the right looks more like the CTAR to me.
What was the context of this meeting? Does anyone know what was the purpose of the gathering that brought these people to this venue? What was the reason for the Trigglypuff (what a great descriptive word) to be ranting as she was?
Just curious...
They ever meet up with ISIS,after listening to them whine ISIS sends them back..
Some of the comments criticizing or (critiquing) this fine SOLDERS valor...is astounding to me.
Some of you have VERY small dicks!
I’m willing to put money on the fact that this very brave and heroic Solder (and beautiful).....would kick your collective asses....!
Piss off, the lot of you.
Yep this could have happened also. This is what is happening in the EU and we will be seeing this here with Obama's third legion that he has imported.
My point is that our borders being international borders should be secured with military force.
We use what was once a civilian force (CBP) that has been further neutered by removing funding, changing ROEs once again to catch and release and also removing roving patrols of illegal crossing points where drags have been set up to monitor traffic. I have spent countless hours with BP agents kicking dirt on the border and have high regards for the boots. They do one hell of a job with both arms tied behind their back.
We could use our troops instead of having them sit in secured (partially secured) bases and forts earning their incomes and also receiving real life training up against the drug cartel and their armed thugs.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

There are many fine, intelligent, strong, capable American men who are not threatened by the same sort of woman. Then, there are old people like me who sit, read, type and let their arteries clog. Guess where the guys who criticized the IDF soldier fit? Considering the source makes it easy to ignore them. Maybe their glory days are gone (if they ever had them in the first place). A wise FReeper told me that he agrees with 98% of the sentiment espoused by FR, so he doesn’t get rattled by 2% of the outliers. Let’s just relax and enjoy President-elect Trump rattling everyone’s chains!
Nobody is faulting you for being a fine son of Israel.
God’s chosen people!
Gaza Strip - very dangerous place. I did a radio survey with the embassy radio tech 10 years ago. Germany eventually funded the towers under the UN. Very, very dangerous people.
