Obama shock: Another $6 billion in 'midnight regulations'
Washington Examiner ^ | December 21, 2016 | Paul Bedard

President Obama, who this week has issued a flurry of environmental rules, is planning to unleash another set of "midnight regulations" right before he leaves office that will cost Americans $6 billion.

Obama has already broken all past records on creating federal regulations and red tape, and his new adds will boost the overall price tag to over $1 trillion.

The new regulations, according to the watchdog group American Action Forum, include four from the Environmental Protection Agency and one from Interior.

"These five measures alone could impose $5.1 billion in costs and more than 350,000 paperwork burden hours. In addition, three other rules in proposed form could add $898 million in burdens and 146,000 paperwork hours, for a cumulative total of nearly $6 billion in potential midnight costs and nearly 500,000 burden hours from the two agencies. Consider, EPA and Interior have already imposed $349 billion in previous burdens since 2009," said AAF's Sam Batkins.

He raised concerns that the new environmental rules were rushed to build on Obama's legacy of attacking climate change.

"The magnitude, $5 billion in long-term costs, and timing could raise suspicion in Congress," he said on the AAF website.

President-elect Trump has promised to cut regulations and several House and Senate commmittees are already producing target lists.

Wow, now Trump will have to work an extra few minutes repealing that. It’s like ripping the W keys out of the computers - just general nastiness.

He’s determined to create as much chaos as possible during the final days in power - the better to force his successor to deal with issues he’d rather not have to so he could get on to more important things....

0bozo is bound and determined to stick it to America while he lives the life of a king in Hawaii. Pretty good since he hardly had any money before being inoculated as president.

Hope they have lots of pens and paper. The list is getting lengthy.

“”cumulative total of nearly $6 billion in potential midnight costs””

Am I going to be the only one here who asks what the heck that means?

Has any greater hoax EVER been played on the American people than this jerk? He has spent almost 8 years telling us to go to **** every day he’s been in office. He’s going to ride off into the sunset with a huge smile on his face and a life time pension with the SS protecting his sorry butt!!!! DISGUSTING!

Obama doesn’t appear to be circumcised. There doesn’t seem to be any end to him.

Perhaps one day the goods will spill and Obama will be tried in court and stripped of his SS protection and pension by congress.

Easily overcome. President Trump, on Inauguration night, signs as many counter-manding EOs as are available - dozens if not hundreds - the media freak for that weekend, and it’s over by the next weekend.

I hope Trump repeals everything the prick has done then launches a full investigation into his connections with the Muslim Brotherhood and pulls his call history with people of the MB from the NSA archives to prove he was a traitor to the American people especially in reference to the Iran Deal. There are so many bad things the man has done to the American people it would fill several novels. Many just aren’t aware of it.

Trump should name a special czar to go through all the regulations of the last 8 years. He should make a big deal of it too. Hell, there are already many organizations he can use that have been keeping track.

As of January 20, consider these, and many other stupid regulations, repealed. Trump should have a repealing executive order ready for him to sign immediately after taking the oath of office.

If Trumps campaign has taught us anything it’s that there is not R and D party, it’s one big party of globalist grifters.

No, because regulations are executive enforcement of federal laws. Congress passes law and the executive branch enforces them. Of course, come January 20 there will be a new executive doing the enforcing.
