In the wake of yesterday’s terror attacks, including the one in Berlin in which 12 people were killed and many more injured, Donald Trump tweeted that the civilized world must “change thinking.”
A disdainful Joe Scarborough reacted on today’s Morning Joe: “I don’t know exactly what the civilized world is going to do about trucks, unless we’re going to ban trucks. But again, some of the deadliest attacks have been with vehicles.”
But the driver of the truck in Berlin yesterday was reportedly a Pakistani “refugee.” And the truck in the Nice attack that killed 86 people was driven by a Tunisian living in France. So no, we can’t ban trucks. But we can put strict limitations on the entry into Western countries of people who might drove those trucks into crowds of innocents. Is that really so hard to understand?

This is a conflict between two dramatically different approaches to life. One teaches ‘but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other cheek to him also.’, and ‘Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.’.
The other teaches “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.”, and “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”, and “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
How do these coexist in the same place at the same time?
When he asked people to think, Trump wasn’t talking about Joe Scarborough.
You cannot treat uncivilized people in a civilized manner or you will be annihilated.

You must have never read citizenship laws written in the Old Testament by Moses.
Also, there is this — Numbers 33:55: “But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.”
God continuously indicted the Israelites for allowing in people who wanted to subvert their culture.
It is not wise to to try to take New Testament scripture which is all about a personal relationship with God and use it as a guide on how to deal with national enemies.
You really would not turn the other cheek to someone breaking into your house and subject your wife and kids to their tender mercies.
We can start by banning Muslim immigration and expelling those who won’t live by our rules.
Our safety comes first ahead of Muslim hurt feelings.
Either Joe is dangerously obtuse or he is willfully perpetuating the denial the PC/MSM crowd would have Amercans live under.

Of course not. My point is that IMHO Western cultures are by nature more accepting and welcoming of those from different backgrounds, but when dealing with people who see you as an enemy they are justified in attacking, this approach can lead to self destruction.

Unfortunately, neither banning guns or trucks will prevent murderers / terrorists from killing people. The perp shot the truck driver with a gun and then used the truck to kill 12 people.
There ain’t no way they are going to ban trucks. The feds are already taxing the hell out of them. They won’t want to give up such a easy rip off levy.
