This is a conflict between two dramatically different approaches to life. One teaches ‘but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other cheek to him also.’, and ‘Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.’.
The other teaches “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.”, and “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”, and “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
How do these coexist in the same place at the same time?

God continuously indicted the Israelites for allowing in people who wanted to subvert their culture.
It is not wise to to try to take New Testament scripture which is all about a personal relationship with God and use it as a guide on how to deal with national enemies.

We can start by banning Muslim immigration and expelling those who won’t live by our rules.

Of course not. My point is that IMHO Western cultures are by nature more accepting and welcoming of those from different backgrounds, but when dealing with people who see you as an enemy they are justified in attacking, this approach can lead to self destruction.

Unfortunately, neither banning guns or trucks will prevent murderers / terrorists from killing people. The perp shot the truck driver with a gun and then used the truck to kill 12 people.
There ain’t no way they are going to ban trucks. The feds are already taxing the hell out of them. They won’t want to give up such a easy rip off levy.
