I’m not sure about Texas’ requirements but Electors are not necessarily required to vote with the popular vote. 21 states provide no legal requirement to do so. Some states just have a fine if they don’t. Only a few states require an Elector to vote as they promised or be removed.

I watched - it was just 36 folded pieces of paper, secret ballots, with the name of the candidates. The secretary announced the tally: 34 for Trump, 1 for Paul, and 1 fore Kasich.
But you wouldn’t know which electors were faithless unless they go public.

I worry a little because I believe Trump is the only one who can make this happen. Anyone else would be weak protenders.
