Yes, a mercenary.
We’re getting close to the point where our military will have to decide if orders coming in are in the best interest of the country.
As far as I’m concerned if you are helping ISIS, Al-Nusera, Al-Qaeda...., then you are a traitor.
Hopefully, the world will know who they are soon.
Agreed. Soon after 9/11 I was happy thinking that at least now we are no longer going to be in the business of supporting jihadis for perceived geo-strategic interests. Boy was I wrong!
The exposed presence of these guys in Aleppo is valuable to Russia claims of western involvement with radical IS militias, so they will probably be involved in their detention
Israeli involvement with the islamic militants should also be a valuable tool for Assad to use to discredit them
Nothing bad will happen to,these guys as long as they can be sold back to,their governments in exchange for certain .... concessions and considerations ... To Assad and Putin
In fact, returning these guys eventually, well fed and treated, in warm fuzzy blankets and slippers could be a PR win for the “ evil tyrant” Assad
Not shocking at all...
Israel has for years supported al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria (including OPEN medical and logistical support for Sunni “rebels” in the Golan and carrying out airstrikes against Assad’s forces). The Israelis are in cahoots with the Saudis and Turks vs. Russia/Iran/Assad/Hezbollah... they are infact rather open about it.
And then there were the 30 “Foreign advisors “ killed when Russia sent sea launched Kalibr missiles into, their Syrian bunker... Must have wanted this group alive

And a victory for Putin, Assad, and the mad mullahs of Iran. The war on non-combatants is now believed to be a Just War, Schrecklichkeit lives in the proud policies of Comrade Putin.
The Saudis are the ones who suckered us into trying to overthrow Assad.
That’s a damn lie. Where is your evidence? You slur Israel because you want Assad to stay in power because you believe in his type of government. Israel hits targets in Israel that are about to be given to Hezbollah, not Assad, whom they’ve kept contained. I know this for a fact.
The murders of American forces would have been so much more preferable for soebarkah, but he’s relatively satisfied with this turn of events.
The strategic danger to Israel posed by the Shia may sound “logical” on the surface.
But the Israeli support for the radical Sunni forces is very shortsighted and will have grave repercussions in the long run. Leaving aside the fact that it is highly immoral and reprehensible.
On the one hand the Sunni’s (Turks and Arabs) may be not the smartest guys around... but they are cunning, shameless and have much more influence in Western countries than the Shias (who have Russia and to some extent China on their side). Iran, Assad and Co. are quite isolated in the West, while the Saudis have bought a lot of influence in the US and Europe. The Muslim population in the West is mostly Sunni and politically directed by Turkey and Saudi-Arabia. Of course also the global Jihadi terrorist threat is Sunni and lead by Saudis.
The Shia may be a regional rival for Israel, but the Sunni “Ummah” (over 90% of Muslims) is a global menace of largest proportions.
It would be smarter to let the Shia in the region curtail and destroy Sunni Islamism. Israel is still a great power militarily and has the US firmly on it’s side. If attacked directly by the Shia coalition, they can defend themselves. As long as the Shias are destroying the Sunni jihadis, let them do it and stop interfering.
It is not acceptable that the Sunni jihadis exterminate all non-Sunnis (Christians, Shias, Druze, Yazidis, moderate Sunnis etc.) and establish terrorist bases across the Middle East. That’s the worst case scenario and inevitable result if the Shia alliance is prevented from destroying the Sunni jihadis.
Hey we weren’t suckered! Saudi and qatar paid well for our services
Problem is the money went to the Clintons and their network
Bingo
War is hell. Always was, always will be.
Assad didn’t start the war - but he fights with the intention to win. Losing is not an option for him (and the majority of Syrians behind him). It’s a fight for life or death.
The guilt lies squarely with those supporting the terrorist “rebels” for various bad reasons.
The war would end if foreign powers would stop propping up the terrorists.
“Anyone seen or heard from John francois kerry?”
Good thing BO didn’t appoint a bunch of millionaires, academics, and community organizers to work in govt!
I am not lying.
Israel has openly supported al-Nusrah/al-Qaeda linked “rebels” in Syria by tending for their wounded fighters in Israeli hospitals and bringing them back across the Syrian border:

It is ridiculous how blinded some people are when it comes to Israel’s policies.
Assad has reportedly (I think it is credible) offered Israel a demilitarized border, if it stops interfering on side of the Sunni jihadi rebels.
