The January 2017 issue of National Geographic features a major first in the the storied 128-year-old publications history for the first time ever, the cover features a transgender individual.
The special Gender Revolution issue features interviews with more than 80 transgender and gender-expansive youth across the globe.
And most notable of all, the person who had the honor of being on the cover is 9-year-old transgender girl Avery Jackson of Kansas City, Mo.
On the cover, Avery is quoted as saying, The best thing about being a girl is, now I dont have to pretend to be a boy.

also, why can’t any of these companies, like ESPN, Target, and now NatGeo stay out of politics? No, the LGBT movement is NOT the Civil Rights movement. Never was and never is.
Pubescent boys hit hardest.
This is the degeneracy that happens when perverse liberals take control of venerated American institutions such as the National Geographic Society. A comprehensive purge of most cultural institutions is long overdue.
I used to love National Geographic. When every issue became a hard left political diatribe, they lost me. It’s just a liberal rag now, packed with enviro-whacko and politically correct sewage. What a shame.
What the f*ck is this shit?! The Age of Obama needs to be wiped from the history books! How ashamed I feel that he became president.
Wouldn’t this be considered child porn? You can bet the pedophiles are buying this issue up.
Much of the self-styled intelligentsia is falling all over themselves nowadays to demonstrate their allegiance to PC dogma; nevertheless, I utterly fail to see how a trans kid falls under the proper rubric of geogrpahy.

I am totally finished with that once great magazine. Totally.
Pure left wing propaganda.
The Age of Obama needs to be wiped from the history books! How ashamed I feel that he became president.
National Geographic is owned by Rupert Murdoch.
Very sad. I received the January 2017 issue of National Geographic in the mail yesterday 12/16. I refuse to show the issue to anyone in my family. I wrote a letter to National Geographic with the following:
Yes, I received the recent issue of National Geographic. No, I did not like it. And yes, National Geographic has lost its credibility.
My subscription lapsed some time ago, but this will have to hurt them, won’t it? It’s like “blam!” .. you know?
The anti-God revolution.
“So, NatGeo is in the business of putting fantasy characters on the cover. What’s next, a series on Star Wars planets?”
—my comment, apparently rejected by Yahoo.
“National Geographic Puts a Young Trans Girl on the Cover”
looks to me like they put a young boy wearing pink clothes and a pink wig on the cover.
If the boy “believed in his heart” he was Jesus or a chimpanzee or a turnip instead if a girl, what would his mother do?
The parents should be charged with child abuse.
I’ll bet within a year, they put a Kardashian cover on Nat’l Geographic and do a 5-page article on the cultural fad.
