As news organizations around the country proclaimed Cathy McMorris Rodgers a sure bet to be the next interior secretary and politicians in her Eastern Washington district quickly announced campaigns for her congressional seat, the person most in the dark was McMorris Rodgers herself.
In her first extended remarks on the events of the last few weeks, the congresswoman said she never got a call from President-elect Donald Trump or his transition team saying she was going to be offered the Cabinet position before or after reports from unnamed sources said she was the likely pick. She also never got a call several days later that Rep. Ryan Zinke of Montana was nominated for the job...
Zinke and McMorris Rodgers both met with Trump on Monday, and Journal sources also said the president-elect asked the congresswoman to address some of her past criticisms of him.
In her meeting with Trump and his son, Mr. Trump cited a long list of things the congresswoman had criticized him for and asked her to address them, according to multiple people familiar with the meeting, the Journal reported. Ms. McMorris Rodgers didnt walk back her comments.

now that’s a good turn if true.
personally I take that as a sign of a strong person (Trump) to want to sit down face to face with your antagonists and discuss things out in the open - find out where their heads are at, plus rightfully defend yourself without the Media fake spin.
Good, she's a moron! Don't know who she had to “service” to become a member of what passes for the “GOPE Leadership,” but she and Patty Murray (also from WA) are two of the dimmest bulbs on the string. Must be why Seattle is the “coffee capitol” of the country. They all need something to stimulate their synapses to avoid the appearance of complete idiocy.
Beginning to wonder if some of these ‘leaks’ aren’t designed to find where the leaks are to eliminate them and find out who is loyal and able to keep their mouth shut.
Not only that but I admire him for confronting these people who spoke against him. Sure, many will say “that’s not Presidential” or “he’s thin-skinned” but dammit we’ve been used as a doormat enough, and if the President lets people do it to him personally he will let other countries do it to the USA.
Like most kids I remember whining to my mom or dad about how some kid was mean to me or beat me up or whatever, and what did they tell us? (This was back in the dark ages when parents actually parented). They said “Go out there and play and if you can’t take it, you work it out”. Sometimes that meant we got into a fight and even more trouble but we were taught to stand up for ourselves.
Bravo to Trump when he does the same.
Wonderful news. Why take a back stabbing bitch?
Love your tagline!
Sounds like the propaganda media are at it again...LOL...never count your chickens before they hatch!!!
I must LOL. President elect Trump must of had a lot to say to Romney... it took more than one meeting.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall when Trump has these conversations with RINOs and makes them account for and explain each instance of their backstabbing.
Romney and Rodgers sittin’ in a tree
C-R-Y-I-N-G
Seriously, I'm still laughing! Now I'm trying to imagine the conversations he had with Paul Ryan. Ryan must have been held to account for every detail of his many betrayals, all while he sweated buckets. Unlike Romney and Rodgers, somehow Ryan got through it. I'd guess Trump owns Ryan's soul now, and keeps it in a little lockbox on a shelf in Trump Tower. :-)
I honestly think that Trump floated his name and interviewed him for SoS was to hear Romney speak highly of him publicly. Kind of rubbing Romney’s nose in his contentious attacks upon Trump. In my opinion, Romney deserved it too. The prefect diss. Looks legit, but totally a slap in the face and a public putdown, and now Romney is on public record for lauding him with praise.
I’ve thought the same. Trump basically neutered Romney. After all the public praise Romney was forced to extend in hopes of getting the SOS appointment, there’s no way he can claw it back without looking like an even bigger fool than he already does. Brilliant strategy.

Well .. I suspected she gave out the info to reporters .. which could have been the main reason Trump did not offer her the position.
I think somebody else did that too .. I’ve forgotten who it was .. but when you have been interviewed - you need to keep your mouth shut.
Two people who appear on FOX frequently have said NOTHING about their interviews. I’m sure it’s hard to keep silent, but it’s something Trump appears to have a strong opinion about .. if you’ll tell about your meeting with him, then you’ll likely tell anything to anybody .. and therefore, he doesn’t want you in his government.
This is good news!
Sure, many will say thats not Presidential or hes thin-skinned

Anyone who alleges such nonsense should be laughed at and berated to their face for the fools that they are. In my view such accusations are nothing more than unwarranted attacks upon our CIC and those who do so, although they have a right to their opinion, certainly have no “right” to our respect.
“...must of had???”
