Donald Trump is still a month away from the White House, but the president-elect is only ramping up his rhetoric against China.
Trump took to Twitter on early Saturday morning to lash out at the country for seizing a US Navy drone two days ago in the South China Sea.
'China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters - rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented (sic) act,' Trump wrote in a misspelled tweet.
Trump's criticism came just hours after a Chinese official said the country was in talks with the American military for a 'smooth resolution' over the drone. The capture - the first of its kind in recent memory - took place on December 15 just as the USNS Bowditch, an American oceanographic survey ship, was about to retrieve the unmanned underwater glider.
US officials issued a formal diplomatic complaint over the seizure and demanded the return of the $150,000 drone, which was collecting unclassified scientific data.
'It is ours. It's clearly marked as ours,' Navy Capt Jeff Davis said on Friday.
'We would like it back, and we would like this not to happen again.'
China said Saturday that its military was in contact with its American counterparts on 'appropriately handling' the seizure, one of the most serious incidents between the two militaries in years.

So, Do tell... unless you can’t for security reasons.
Yo, you with the freaky names, Liam and Anneta. Listen up. You children could not be trusted to clean the lavatories in Trump Tower. Now go play in your sandbox!
Who was at the controls of the drone? If the Chinese were able to locate and disable it, we have a bigger problem if it contained technology we don’t want to share... Why were the Chinese better at retrieving our drone than our own Navy, who were supposedly controlling it? If we are not allowed to protect ourselves and our stuff anymore in international waters these days, why were our sailors put in harms way in the first place?
I don’t know if you’ve read Twitter or not, but you have their reaction down perfectly.
The funny thing is I literally saw a liberal siting this Tweet as a reason the electors should not vote for Trump.
That answers it and nullifies my conspiracy theory.
Tweets must now be spelled correctly???
OMG!
Regarded of how “unpresidented” it is to have a misspelled tweet, we should maybe capture some or all of their space satellites in return.
Offer to exchange their satellite parts, for our underwater drone.
And then we should build a drone that is mostly explosives and when they capture it, Set it off.
Actually, “Dunce-l” works pretty well too. Obama is both stupid AND useless. So either appellation fits.
Cool, I like that sort of thing. Looks like a few percent for temperature (although the profile is probably pretty well known). I’d have to work out the expected variation over expected deviations from normal ocean salinity.
Actually, the Daily Mail probably would. They are more fair than most papers and are willing to criticize both sides.
No, I'm not on Twitter, but I know liberals well. I teach high school.
Yeah, they’ll have some fun with this one. One liberal said that if Trump is impeached, “Unpresidented” will be the headline and on and on. It took a while to correct as it was up for an hour or so.
Full fledged liberals in high school, huh? That soon?
I think it was an intentional slam against 0bama.
No, I mean all liberals operate like adolescents.
With this misspelling (or it is a pun?), Trump is forcing the MSM to either cover it, or continue covering up homo's unpresidenting.
Yes, and the left will be talking about how dumb Trump is now and how he has not bothered to visit all 57 of the states to thank all of the voters. Perhaps there are CORPS men in the audience.
And maybe Trump will visit Westminster Abbey and write the wrong date in the guest book like Obamao did.
