US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power directly confronted Syrian President Bashar Assad and his Russian and Iranian allies during a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday with a fierce address.
"To the Assad regime, Russia, and Iran, your forces and proxies are carrying out these crimes. Your barrel bombs and mortars and airstrikes have allowed the militia in Aleppo to encircle tens of thousands of civilians in your ever tightening noose," Power said.
.."It is your noose," Power said. "Three member states of the UN contributing to a noose around civilians. It should shame you. Instead, by all appearances, it is emboldening you. You are plotting your next assault. Are you truly incapable of shame?"
.."Is there literally nothing that can shame you?" Power said. "Is there no act of barbarism against civilians, no execution of a child, that gets under your skin? That just creeps you out a little bit? Is there nothing you will not lie about or justify?"

Samantha Powers misses the point that the Assad regime is the legitimate government of Syria and Russia is their treaty ally. It’s the USA that has no shame when we started this whole mess in Syria just to facilitate a gas pipeline that the Qataris and Saudis want to build across Syria.
Syria has the right to refuse the pipeline and Russia has every right to defend their ally from extremists that we are supporting.
I have an idea!

If the Saudis, the CIA, the various jihadists, etc, would just let Bashar keep his, not especially oppressive in the big scheme of things, dictatorship and let Russia keep their naval base, no one would get killed.

Actually... I do believe the United States has killed at least one or two innocent people during Boma’s admin, either through direct fire or through negligence... Let’s see... There was the US Ambassador to Libya for one, and then the others who died with him... And not lets even talk about the thousands of drone strikes approved by Obama... Yup... There is plenty of innocent blood to go ‘round.
Not to mention, if your boss Obama had actually payed any attention to his line in the sand, instead of curling up in a fetal position every time he was confronted with a world crises, maybe the innocents would be saved. Maybe there wouldn’t be the largest refugee crises since the second world war, and maybe just maybe, the Russians would have thought better of it and not entered the fray in Syria.
