Grassley: We're not delaying Sessions hearing
The Hill ^ | December 13, 2016 | Jordai Carney

Posted on 12/13/2016 4:13:54 PM PST by jazusamo

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said on Tuesday evening that he will not delay Sen. Jeff Sessions's attorney general confirmation hearing amid a Democrat push for more information.

"Any suggestion that a nominee’s good faith efforts to locate and produce responsive material is cause for delay begins to look like a call for delay for delay’s sake, rather than a thorough review of a colleague’s character and qualifications," Grassley said.

The Judiciary Committee chairman added that "I look forward to hearing from Senator Sessions on Jan. 10."

His pushback comes after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) sent a letter to Grassley on Friday night after he publicly announced that the hearings for Sessions would take place on Jan. 10 and 11.

"In order to have a full and fair process, we must have all the documents responsive to the Committee questionnaire. I intend to engage in that process fully... and urge that we are able to have the time needed to perform our due diligence," Feinstein wrote at the time.

Feinstein, in her original letter, also noted that there were likely third-party documents that would also be relevant to the hearings and still needed to be turned over.

But Grassley hit back on Tuesday noting that former Attorney General Eric Holder's hearings remained on schedule even though he "supplemented his questionnaire multiple times with, literally, hundreds of additions and clarifications, including one update more than a year after he was confirmed."

"The materials provided to the committee by Senator Sessions are in large part public documents that anyone can find on his official Senate website," he added. "It’s information that’s been publicly available, in some instances, for twenty years. In fact, only a small percentage of the material was not already publicly available."

Democrats have warned that Sessions will not be given a free pass even though he's a well-respects on both sides of the aisle. Sen. Elizabeth Warren D-Mass.) called on Trump to drop the Alabama lawmaker.

Democrats on the committee, including Feinstein, also pushed Grassley late last month to allow for at least four days of hearings on Sessions.

But Democrats face an uphill battle if they want to block their Alabama colleague.

Under the 2013 decision to go "nuclear" Sessions will need a simple majority to clear the upper chamber. Republicans are expected to have a 52-seat majority next year, and the caucus has coalesced around Sessions.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) also said he will support him.

It’s important to know the history of the Dems vs Sessions. Back in the 1980’s, Sessions was nominated to be a federal judge...but the Senate Judiciary Committee rejected his appointment.

This enraged Alabama, including a Democratic Senator from here (yeah, back then we had one).

Well, an election was coming up so the Great State of Alabama elected Sessions to the Senate...where the GOP put Senator Sessions onto that very Senate Judiciary Committee that had just rejected his nomination as a federal judge.

It’s been war ever since, and Feinstein is still fighting Sessions by signaling that she’ll hammer him in his AG confirmation hearing.

...but there’s only so much that she can do/say. The Senate has rules against slandering other Senators, plus the Dems are the minority Party so they have little real power in the Senate now.

Won’t stop her from grandstanding, though.

DiFi and other RATS will go ballistic. LOL!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Jeff Sessions will be confirmed faster than light speed.

The dems had a week or two to realize that their same old , same old does not work with America anymore.

But the Democrat left has a vampire-like hold on the Dem party, and they now insist that their sordid world is THE only American reality. Feinstein and Warren are dinosaurs in this new era of taking good faith causes directly to the People. Darwin will be their just end.

And where are the Dem calls for bipartisanship now? Oh how we change in just a few short months? So the Dems even stayed with Nancy Pelosi? Buahahahahahahaha! Chuck the Schmuck has a chance to bring the Dem party back to Earth, but I doubt he can do it before it matters when Paul Ryan brings in new legislation for the Trump agenda on 21st January, 2017.

The Dems are simply ensuring a Trump double term of 8 years, and also a decent shot for Mike Pence as future president thereafter.

James Comey, Julian Assange, The Russians, and then likely Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang are all to blame, but not Clinton and Obama himself for the pestilential policies and utopian fascist myths they have treasonously perpetrated on America? The lefty Dems and their MSM media blivovators now attempt to revise history even before its made.....OH the PAIN!

I say to the failed utopian, social engineering left:

IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR PRESDENT! YOU CAN KEEP YOUR PRESIDENT! Oh the poetic justice and irony.

All of this leftist caterwauling means one thing. All of these leftists are headed for the dustbin / crapper of history. They are falling into a bottomless abyss where Utopian liberal fascists compost forever, because they refused or failed to abide by the Constitution of the United States.

God riddance to all of them.

“Oh really? Who in the GOPe is trying to block Sessions?”

Perhaps not Sessions, but for sure Tillerson and several others! You don’t think the GOPe’s favorite nutty a$$holes ( i.e. McLame, McSctotumneck, Linda, The Cabana Boy and Paul) are going to go away quietly do you?

“They will blather and dither but will vote for him”

Probably, but they are all still worthless turds whom the voters need to replace. Particularly McScrotumneck. He’s just like Harry Reid, only even uglier.

Exactly, DiFi and other Dems on the Judiciary know Sen. Sessions very well and it ticks them off that he’s a man of integrity.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Precisely so. The Rats simply cannot advance their anti-American agendas when forced to deal with men of integrity. Such men are anathema to their entire criminal enterprise. The Democrat Party itself should be investigated as a criminal organization under the RICO statutes.

Yes, the Harry Reid Rule should be invoked whenever the Rats attempt to obstruct the will of the majority.

AG Jeff Sessions will have BY FAR the biggest impact on the U.S. of any cabinet appointment. From Holder’s evil “consent decrees” browbeating hundreds of cities and towns to drop enforcement of illegal aliens, to Black Lives Matter, to Voter ID laws, to welfare fraud, Sessions will be a pure conservative hammer on the left across America.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Yes, and we need to appeal to AG Sessions to use his biggest sledgehammer to smash these Rat decrees and anti-American organizations to pieces. And let’s be sure he does not forget to investigate the Clintons and all of their ilk because the American people deserve to see justice meted out to every one of those vipers.

#22 when Affirmative action comes up as a topic in the Hearing all Sessions has to say is that ANYONE that used heritage as a means to gain an unfair advantage in any employment or education opportunity and it was later proven to be a fraud should be subjected to 1 year in prison and Life time ban on holding Public office.

Lieawatha would suddenly go ill and be absent any further hearings.

Grassley needs to send DI-FI a latter. And here's the contents of the letter.

ITEM--The Desert Wilderness Protection Act and its companion bill known as the California Desert Protection Act sponsored by Sen Finestein, created three new national parks and seventy- four new wilderness areas in the desert of California that total 8 million acres (an area the size of Maryland). This closes acreage to development, forces out private owners within the protected area and closes mines and ranches. It also expands the Death Valley and Joshua Tree national monuments and upgrades them to national parks.

It seems that the real motivation for passage of Sen Finestein's bill lies with the special interest groups that would benefit monetarily. Through a complex series of land exchanges, Catellus Corporation (Owned by none other than Richard Blum, DiFI's Hubby), a subsidiary of Santa Fe Pacific, will receive land that contains some of the richest gold deposits in the world.

ITEM--Senator’s husband profits for 15 years from federal funds (Feinstein-Blum)
NY Post | 1/19/15 | Richard Johnson / FR Posted by Libloather

My report Sunday on the lucrative deal Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s husband has to sell 56 post office buildings barely scratched the surface of her conflicts of interest. The California Democrat’s financier husband, Richard C. Blum, is estimated to be a billionaire from his shrewd investments in companies that profit from federal policies.

“For at least 15 years, Feinstein has appeared to support government contracts that push federal funds toward companies co-owned or governed by her powerful, billionaire husband, Richard C. Blum,” Breitbart News reported. (Excerpt) Read more at pagesix.com ...

=====================================================

ITEM--Sen Finestein's husband, Richard Blum, became a billionaire representing China's interests.

BACKSTORY: Back in Sept 2014, Senate intel head Di/Fi was whining about the CIA looking through her computers and taking documents. Clearly, the CIA had plenty on her----even BEFORE the shocking Cali state missile scandal broke.

Di/Fi has a known aversion to guns.

A key figure in Cali state legislature, Sen Leland Yee's was charged w/ facilitating a shocking missile deal w/ China (Yee is also a notorious grabber of American guns).

INCONVENIENT FACTOIDS:

<><>Feinstein heads the Senate Intel Committee;

<><> Her hubby Richard Blum made million as the lawyer for Chinese interests;

<><> gun-grabber Cali Sen Leland Yee knew where to get missiles, launchers, machine-guns etc;

<><> Lee's co-conspirator Raymond Chow was jailed, then freed when he professed to be a “really nice guy”.... honored by Di/Fi for working with local Cali Chinese youths.
