It was an honor to have been considered for Secretary of State of our great country. My discussions with President-elect Trump have been both enjoyable and enlightening. I have very high hopes that the new administration will lead the nation to greater strength, prosperity and peace.
The USofA is currently like a passenger in a plane that’s having oxygen issues, it needs to put on it’s own air mask first before trying to assist others.
Trump didn’t get where he is by being a dope. The Manhattan real estate market is loaded with sharks and unsavory characters. Pretty tough waters to navigate.
He’s ready. President Trump will rock the house on day 1. Count on it.

The issue is the conflict of interest.
Tillerson stated in 2009 that he favors a carbon tax as “the most efficient means of reflecting the cost of carbon in all economic decisions—from investments made by companies to fuel their requirements to the product choices made by consumers.”
In 2013, Tillerson outlined his support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), stating at the Global Security Forum: “One of the most promising developments on this front is the ongoing effort for the Trans-Pacific Partnership... The 11 nations that have been working to lower trade barriers and end protectionist policies under this partnership are a diverse mix of developed and developing economies. But all of them understand the value of open markets to growth and progress for every nation.”
In September 2013, Tillerson wrote an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal defending Common Core.
His views and statements ARE concerning. I trust Trump. But I don’t trust Tillerson. Does that make sense?
Look, the democrats will target one or two nominees. They are saying the targets will be Sessions and the EPA guy.
Tillerson is not a politician and has a clean slate. He’ll have all the right answers at the hearing and will be confirmed with overwhelming support.
He and McMullen have done tremendous damage to their religion.

Tillerson was given a medal by KGB Vlad. Outside of maybe Manchin I see no way he’ll get any Dem votes after all this Russia hacking nonsense. Dems always make the GOP do the heavy lifting.
Trump needs the Chamber to deliver Rubio/Flake/Etc. because he will need all the GOP save for a couple. Unfortunately, Trump will have to a price for their support. Not good.

Trump is going to be mostly focused on domestic issues. This will be a much more powerful than normal Sec. of State. Having the Chamber of Commerce’s guy in such a key spot is very troubling.
One day, when you get elected president, you can make your own picks.

You don’t get it. If someone tries to derail a nomination, trump will call them out personally to the American people. I don’t imagine he will pull any punches and DJT enjoys incredible support, an overwhelming mandate.
Anyone who stands against that mandate will be crushed. I don’t know how, but I know trump will crush them and succeed.
