Republican lawmakers are increasingly at odds with Donald Trump across a range of high-profile domestic and national security issues, an early sign that the GOP-led Congress might resist some elements of the president-elects unorthodox agenda.
Although Trump maintains enthusiastic backing in many corners of the party, key members of the Senate and House have been outspoken in challenging his views of Russia and its interference in the U.S. election, warning of potential conflicts of interest arising from Trumps far-flung business interests if he does not fully divest from his company, and criticizing the tough approach that he has taken to some companies, including his threat to impose a stiff tariff on firms that move jobs overseas.
There is also friction over Trumps consideration of ExxonMobil chief executive Rex Tillerson to be secretary of state with GOP advisers warning that a growing number of Republican senators may be unwilling to vote to confirm Tillerson because of his ties to Russia.

What Republicans?
Oh, those bastards? They're not Republicans....they're RINOs.
Can't you tell the difference?
(and you call yourselves a "newspaper")
Clever people those Russians. hacked into paper ballots, hacked into machines not accessed through the internet, got people to vote for Trump, got people out to see Trump, got to the judges to stop recounts.
One would think these clever people would not have left a signature to see it was them and get caught.
Do I seriously need a sarc tag?
It’s a big swamp.
More fake news from the lame stream media. Nothing to see here folks.
I have to admit. This whole thing is beginning to scare me.
Not because I think Russians have interfered in the election process.
Because there are influential people who either believe it or not, who are treating it as the truth and manufacturing this spreading stain, creating stories like this.
Is their hold on reality so tenuous, they want to destroy this country because their candidate lost? Because I could see that happening.
WaPo Fake News!
Juan McCain is a thug and an idiot and a bully. Even during the Cold War, I don't recall any US government officials speaking in such terms of the Soviet leaders. It serves no purpose, even if true, when it is always better to keep relations on a reasonably diplomatic and civil level so that any opportunities for improvement in relations and results can be pursued.
Juan's just once again reveling in the attention and another opportunity to back stab and undercut his own party. It keeps the news media cameras and microphones close by.
More fake news from wapo.

Growing resistance from Republicans? Let’s see: McCain and his squeeze toy Linda Graham? Maybe Fluke or Ben Sasse?
It seems that the RINO and hard core Never Trump ‘republicans’ are very slow learners - like democrats.
So far, anyone who has bucked Trump or tried to beat him has had their butts handed to them.
Obama has shown how a president can steamroller the system, but he did it to pursue a negative and criminal agenda.
Trump has laid out a positive, constitutional; agenda but those who oppose him don’t have any idea what is in store for those who try to block Trump and his agenda.
One really has to ask why McCain is making such wild statements about Putin. After all he kissed up to the NV commies who tortured him.
This is what passes for prayer in the legacy media.
Which is why Trump chose his wife for a cabinet position. Leverage.
McCain = Benedict Arnold
Or at least we at the Washington compost sure HOPE there will be.
We’ll see. Totally possible. Rein him in on Jan22.
The Washington Post’s job is to help China’s politicians in DC.
China wants “let’s you and him fight” for Russia and US.
“Podesta emails show Clinton camp created Russia/Trump fake news to smear Trump #russianhack”
Thanks for the info. This is more believable than the original story that Russian hacking helped Trump win.
The Dems just can’t face reality that people are finally tired of the Obama and Clinton politics and want someone who will indeed put the interests of the US first.
