It was a sorry day when schools stopped teaching American history, and it's time for American children to know something about their heritage and understand, along with the blemishes of slavery and mistreatment of Native Americans, the nobility of America, it's long standing place in the world as the aspiration and hope of every freedom loving person on earth.
In my opinion, America's days to pull out of the morass we're stuck in are numbered, our problems need immediate and decisive action, and problems such as the Veterans Administration should be at the top of the stack.
We're sinking in debt, fiscal miasma, and there is a deep division in the nation which positive action will go a long way toward healing.
Show us something, Mr. Trump. Stay the course you set. Don't back down. Don't compromise. Just move forward and truly make America great again.
Remember, the spirit of Pearl Harbor is still alive and well in this country.

Even more than beseeching Donald Trump, Charlie (and the rest of us) should be beseeching the good Lord.
“It was a sorry day when schools stopped teaching American history...”
Americans of a certain age would not believe that American teenagers do not know who Christopher Columbus is, but I have seen that personally.
And can’t write in cursive.
Excellent point of view and correct. The time is indeed short. Either we turn around, or all hell is going to break loose. The nation simply must turn back to God. If we go back to the way we were going, it will be impossible for things to turn out well.
Can’t make up their mind whether to pour vitriol, or just to forget ole Chris.
I still don’t, and probably nobody living does, know exactly what DID happen with his first excellent adventure, except that Columbus’ own church took umbrage at what he did. Did he find himself in the middle of some tribal quarrels and take sides, resulting in a decimation of the population because he could fight a lot more effectively than the natives could?
It wouldn’t be the first time that Christians who ought to know better have made worldly mistakes. Still, it was the church itself that tried to correct it. Secular liberals who are upset over this today should at least consider whether they’d do any better under similar circumstances. Without the Lord, their vaunted good will would quickly evaporate.
Cursive is a matter of indifference compared to far greater things.
Exactly right. I wrote this the other day:
In a discussion about trusting in God when times are bad in Bible class today, we learned that Christians are to have a specific trust in God when leaders and/or society are evil. God promises to, in His time, to remove evil and make things right when people turn back to Him. Throughout history, he has.
Then the thought came out in class which reflects what is happening right now in society. Evil people reject God's Word and the principles found there. So, when events, leadership and decisions don't go their way, evil people panic, have intense anxiety and react in violent, destructive ways. Instead of waiting patiently on people to see the need for God and for Him to act, they have emotional breakdowns requiring "safe places", telephone hotlines and counseling to try and cope.
Some don't adjust and are escalating events to the point of conflict because, with no higher power in whom to trust, their world has fallen apart. They are ready to resort to violence. They also accuse the God-fearing people falsely of wanting to do to them what they actually want to do to us. God help us all.
And when they stopped teaching basic civics.
There’s nothing wrong with the Safe Place of heaven, even the spirit of God on earth.
There’s everything wrong with looking for it in secular, worldly affairs.
This could be even more important in America than the issue of preaching explicit bible in schools.
It’s enough to learn candidly what America professed to believe, and how it either remained faithful to it or betrayed it, and reaped the blessing or the curse as a result. Students can draw their own conclusions if they are so inclined. I believe homes and houses of worship are the most important places for explicit bible preaching, though there’s nothing wrong with sharing it in general public with voluntary audiences.
I mean, wrong in looking for these earthly things to constitute Safe Places.
Charlie Daniels speaks of an older America that liberals almost destroyed with their importing of people who hate us and all we stand for...And their elitist hatred of our beliefs.
Trump's right about the first step: ONLY allow 'immigrants' who want to BE Americans and to love our country, it's freedoms AND to love us. The second step is to switch incentives - produce a different type of 'teacher'... No more of the 'Education Establishment Departments of America Haters'. Incentives define reality. Switch 'em.
It is so they can’t read Founding documents (original source documents) so that all their information can be completely controlled by the State. Their ignorance creates dependence.
Writing/cursive is an exercise for the integration of the brain.....like the importance of crawling in infancy for babies so they can learn to walk. The order is by design-—to map and integrate the brain.
With screens/artificial realities, children are not mapping their brains as God Designed-—so they can be extremely warped and incapable of Logic and Reason and maturity (integration of both sides of the brain).
Ivey told Podesta,
as Ive mentioned, weve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry.
Poison Ivey ALERT!
It was a sorry day when schools stopped teaching American history...
And Civics. It’s scary to think that probably half of the people who voted this year have never taken a course in Civics. When I was in HS, that course was required to graduate.
And that is a good thing.
All days are numbered, starting with zero at Creation, and increasing monotonically by one in ascending integer order thereafter.
I most certainly cannot speak for God-—but—America has rejected Him more than once-—thrown out of the schools and we wonder? why our kids are violent or worse—thrown out of the leadership of our Nation while they mouth a phony prayer before some meetings-—then go on to crucify every good thing proposed-—allowing the murder of innocents when God has mentioned His love for them and the punishment that awaits their abusers—and so it goes as we rejected God—now , we expect Him to save such a wicked nation that was founded in His principles-—I laugh at the arrogance and enmity of God that this Nation shows-—God is not mocked!!
