Chris Christie WAS offered jobs in the Trump administration - but refused them because...

Donald Trump reportedly told Chris Christie he could head Homeland Security or Veterans Affairs, but didn't offer him attorney general.

Christie turned down those opportunities, along with an ambassadorship and a job in the White House, sources told NJ.com.

Christie seemed to be having a public falling out with the president-elect after being demoted from leading Trump's transition team.

Some speculated it was a power play orchestrated by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner - whose father was jailed by Christie.

Kushner, however, said that he and Christie had buried the hatchet, with sources telling Yahoo that the governor's bridgegate scandal was the problem.

Two of Christie's former aides were found guilty on charges stemming from lane closures of the George Washington Bridge.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was offered a number of positions within the new Trump administration – though not the gig he wanted, attorney general – and so he turned them all down.

Two sources told NJ.com that Christie could have been Homeland Security secretary, Veterans Affairs secretary, the U.S. ambassador to Italy or a White House adviser. Those same sources said that the New Jersey governor wasn't offered the role of attorney general, which went to Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., one of the earliest cabinet decisions the president-elect made.

It was very generous of Mr Trump to offer anything.

Christie’s career in electoral politics is over. He should have been more gracious to our President

Personally, I don't care why he turned them down.

I'm just grateful to Almighty God that he did.

Giuliani is all CLASS.

They were at the Army Navy game together, he and Trump.

Maybe, just maybe, he helped Trump day and night because he loves America and I am Very Sad that he isn’t in the cabinet, but he will be in the kitchen cabinet and having the POTUS as a great friend is a GOOD thing.

I am partial because I’m from Staten Island and saw how he changed the city!!

It was Giuliani time then, as they called it. It’s Trump time now!!

I suspect that Rudy is being held for something very special, i.e., special prosecutor for the Clinton Foundation and everything connected to it. It would be the capstone of a great career.

I love him but 9/11, going to EVERY Fireman’s funeral with prostate cancer and life in general has aged him before his time.

He’s still tough as nails and will answer if called.

If he doesn’t get called, as he said on FOX, he’s very happy with his life.

A true patriot.

Trump and Rudy. Two NYers who held/hold office that I can be proud of. That doesn’t happen often!!

Not really. Christie was the first of the major candidates to endorse Trump. If anybody “owes” anybody it’s the other way around.

I think he's nuts for turning that AND Homeland Security down. He doesn't help us here in the People's Republic with a governor's election in November. GOK what he's thinking. Christie is a very big target and the best place for him is ANYWHERE but New Jersey.

Other than the obvious Christie is just a plain old loose cannon and too self serving. DJT just couldn’t trust him.

The BridgeGate really highlighted that character flaw. Nobody is perfect, but Trumps guys are going to be under the microscope.

“Christie is just a plain old loose cannon”

“I’ll settle for the Human Cannonball job!” cried Krispy

I’m sorry, but we can’t use a man of your caliber.

I think you’re on to something. Rudy could be considered part of a deep bench in case something goes wrong in a high profile cabinet position. He could come in as someone experienced in all areas to fill the spot temporarily if needed.

I consider Jared Kushner a cry baby.
If his dad did something illegal then why blame the person who put him in jail? Why not blame dad for getting himself in that predicament in the first place?
