Ryan and Ammon Bundy refused to enter a federal courtroom Friday for a hearing in the armed standoff case...
....among 17 defendants in the case, are the sons of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, the central figure in the standoff that unfolded in April 2014 between Bundy's supporters and federal agents who had rounded up his cows....
....in orange jumpsuits, several defendants in the federal courtroom yelled out as the three-hour hearing ended: "Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God."
U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen told federal marshals she didn't want the Bundy brothers put in the courtroom by force and ordered them to be kept in an area with access to audio of the proceedings....
The judge didn't issue a decision at the hearing but said it would be "logistically impossible" to have one trial for all the defendants.
Proscutors are pushing for a tiered system of three trials.....That means trials would start in February, May and August.
Defendants have a variety of alternatives.....
Cliven Bundy, for example, has pushed for one trial for all 17 defendants or the alternative of a separate trial for himself after all the others are tired first.
Bundy attorney Bret Whipple said in court that his client wants defendants to be able to return to their families quickly.
The defendants, who are in federal custody, face federal charges that include conspiracy to assault federal agents and stem from the events of April 12, 2014, several miles from the Bundy Ranch near Bunkerville....
Dozens of family members and friend crowded into the courtroom to observe the proccedings.
"My dad is an all-American cowboy who loves his country and loves God," said St. George, Utah resident Molly Stuart, 34, one of Cliven Bundy's 14 children......

He had gotten permission to go speak to a gathering of people in a town that was somewhere on that road where he was driving. The permission CAME FROM A SHERIFF.
He was ambushed. The hit squad fired into the minivan he was driving, too.
There was no medical on site there, nor did anything come for awhile. He was left to bleed out in the snow without anyone checking on him or holding his hand.

In some ways, you are arguing uselessly here. You are completely right, but to some, the Federal Government is always wrong, facts don’t matter, and like washerwoman gossiping across the back fence; the more outrageous the rumor, the more they believe it.
In the Monicagate days, FR and Drudge were the two reliable sources of truth about what was really happening. Some of my MSM neighbors in the DC area then would not let an hour go by without checking Drudge and FR. Unfortunately, rationality here has been replaced by rumor.
BTW, in case one wants to condemn all the MSM, I would remind them that if Jackie Judd had not pressured the suits at ABC to break into a prerecorded “Nightline” broadcast and break the Monica story, we never would have heard about it.
The WaPo had the story 3 days earlier, and spiked it. The NYT had 80% of it, but was looking for ways to kill it. Jackie Judd and ABC brought the rest of the media, kicking and screaming, onto the story.

Finicum was probably worried the masked back-shooters were going to rape and then kill the young girl that was in the truck.

Well, I do. My wife’s father started his early career in farming in the Moapa Valley in Southern Nevada (near Bunkerville). If he were alive today, he’d be standing alongside the Bundys. Sometimes, resisting the unjust laws that have been promulgated with respect to “public lands” needs to happen. It’s my fervent hope that stopping all the litigation of the Bundys and the men in Oregon will occur with Donald Trump’s inauguration. Further, I want to see ALL manner of weaponry taken away from the BLM. They are simply a pack of Nazis just like the BATFE and several other agencies that have no real constitutional authority for their existence. There would be an immediate benefit to this action since if these assholes had not been allowed to have guns, Kate Steinle (who was killed by an illegal alien who used a stolen BLM “agent”s gun) would be alive today. I really find it hard to believe that anyone who lives in Reno would be supporting this $hit! You must be a transplant!
Maybe you can get us an update on the FBI sniper-assassin and his fibbie buds who committed felonies by lying about shooting at Finicum and the truck at the concealed and illegal roadblock.

I would like a new justice dept. to look at the Bundy issue with a fresh pair of eyes. I think that there is blame on both sides of the issue, but the matter is really fact intensive regarding the historical grazing use/rights.
The Western US has such a large percentage of our land being held by the govt. it is difficult for people used to private ownership of land in the East to easily understand just how aggressive the Feds have become during the Obama administration as opposed to how benign and cooperative the Feds used to behave over the past 100 years.
Only 17% of land in my county is owned by private owners; the rest, (83%) is govt.

No. There is not. At no time did Finicum have a weapon in his hand in any footage I saw. He was also right handed, so when he reached to his left, suggesting that he was reaching for a weapon does not hold water.

However, there is a much simpler issue here.
If an LEO is standing there, pointing a weapon at you, after you have been part of an armed anarchistic takeover of land, and members of your group have threatened to kill any LEO who tries to arrest them, and YOU RUN AT THE LEO DESPITE COMMANDS TO STOP, is the LEO expected to conclude that the perp is running at him to give him a hug, some Playdough and a coloring book?
Put yourself in the same situation as the LEO. If someone, who had previously announced deadly intent to you, came running at you, would you shoot him, or wait to see what he had in mind?
What is your problem?
The issue was WHY did LEO and FBI teams set up on a road in the first place, especially on a blind curve outside cell range and without medical?
The Oregon Gov. wanted it over, and so someone had to be the patsy-someone not a Bundy.
Finicum was not shot to wound. He was shot to kill. No tasers, no shots to the shoulder or legs. He was shot to kill.

(Update: 1/28/2016 recent text message records published from a screen shot of Sheriff Palmer’s iPhone shows support for this view. Sheriff Palmer commented “FBI and OSP know me…and they know I wouldn’t have allowed” their operation which “is why I think they did it in Harney County. I believe they also did this to keep them from getting a tentacle into this county and from spreading as they were getting traction and momentum.”)

In addition to the material already covered above, it is well known and well reported, including by the New York Times, that Ammon and LaVoy had already reached out to Sheriff Palmer as a member of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), that he had previously been that organizations “lawman of the year” and had openly challenged the jurisdiction of federal agents in his county. This claim is central to the motivation for the occupation. In fact, LaVoy knew that Sheriff Palmer had publicly challenged the notion that federal agents had any law enforcement or policing authority outside of the confines of the local federal court house.
As pointed out above, Sheriff Palmer has openly speculated that the timing and show of force were directly meant to prevent Ammon and LaVoy from reaching Grant County and reaching the 200+ local supporters. (Update: 1/29/2016 George Plaven from Capital Press is reporting that while citizens waited in Grant County, and word came in about the tragic murder and arrests, the citizens there recognized the FBI and OSP actions as an “ambush” and Organizer Tad Houpt, of Canyon City, promised the crowd there would be another meeting in the very near future stating, “We’re not going to stop, we’re not going to take this anymore.”)
