(Reuters) — Web giants YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft will step up efforts to remove extremist content from their websites by creating a common database.
The companies will share ‘hashes’ – unique digital fingerprints they automatically assign to videos or photos – of extremist content they have removed from their websites to enable their peers to identify the same content on their platforms.
“We hope this collaboration will lead to greater efficiency as we continue to enforce our policies to help curb the pressing global issue of terrorist content online,” the companies said in a statement on Tuesday.
Tech companies have long resisted outside intervention in how their sites should be policed, but have come under increasing pressure from Western governments to do more to remove extremist content following a wave of militant attacks.

“Web Giants Coordinate to Remove Extremist Content”
And who gets to define “Extremist”?
Oh, the ‘web giants’? Yeah, that’s what I thought!

I do believe in free speech, that's why I devoted half my life to protecting it. This is an extremely slippery slope, who will decide what is 'extremist speech'? The left? The SPLC? The KKK? No, I don't agree to any censorship just because it doesn't fit their ideology. BUT, it is their sandbox and if you want to play in it you'll have to abide by their rules like it or not. Or, you can create your own sandbox and invite like minded individuals to drop in.

So stupid. Personally I have been to Storm Front, as an example, and I find it rather hilarious. They basically know who are the worlds’ Jews are. The paranoia is sick but also humorous. Does the fact I read Storm Front material make me more likely to sympathize? Not at all. Better to understand the enemy.
Shouldn’t we rather have this than an enemy so secretive and silent we are not ready when they finally hit?

"Its been said directly or suggested through little phrases like out of step with... and such."
The latest of these is, "That's not who we are," as in, "If you oppose illegal immigration, or oppose gay marriage, you are not a true American." Thus they both falsify history and claim the future.

So far, the Left is winning across the World. Once they get enough Third Worlders to invade, there will be no hope for any freedom except theirs to destroy the rest of us.

The problem is that this action crowds the biggest conservative news sites off the main web, limiting social media outreach / sharing, decreasing their search engine results ranking when people search for stories or even brands by name. And by attaching unique hash tag’s to it, they can also limit / prevent it being reposted elsewhere.

Yesterday, you tube stopped streaming audio, and then I got a message that an error had occurred. So I went to a different computer, and finished watching the presentation.
The next scenario stopped in the middle with the same message. This morning, the same thing. Seems too coincidental to me.

Right On - it seems that these people are creating something akin to what we had 75 years ago. Instead of Silicon Valley, they may need to rename it Brown Shirt Valley. That way all the employees could wear brown uniforms and be driven around in autonomous vehicles to and from work and never have to confront those they didn’t agree with (racist people). Maybe they could come up with some new social words like doublethink or crimethink. They could even call their god Big Brother. But that is giving them too much credit for originality.

Antitrust censorship
What if all the ink and paper companies got together and refused to sell ink and papers to the newspapers they didn’t agree with....
What’s the software companies banding together and refuse sell software to freerepublic
Ore computer maker banding together and not selling Free Republic servers
Or ISP banding together and refusing to sell internet bandwidth
Or cloud providers like Rackspace colluding and refusing sell server rackspace
It’s antitrust just as different provider can not coordinate price they can not coordinate service at no price

Web giants YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft will step up efforts to continue their treason and sedition, backed by an army of weeping, bed-wetting snowflakes.
Trump supporters LOL!

I predict IF theses sites begin to censor people they politically disagree with, then they will go the same way as other sites that have tried censorship in the past. Some of us noticed they already did that in the last election. They are the sole arbiter of what is real, what would you expect committed Marxists to do?

Fortunately, the bully is playing its last bluff. Their best efforts will have little impact on sharing of information. Are you forgetting that we gave up control to the UN I guess, over the internet addresses?
