Republican presidential elector Christopher Suprun explained in an eye-opening op-ed to the New York Times on Monday why he intends to reject Donald Trump when it comes to voting as part of the electoral college.
In a column aptly titled Why I Will Not Cast My Electoral Vote for Donald Trump, the Texas paramedic revealed how he will break ranks will Republicans in an attempt to halt the president-elects road to the White House.
I do not think president-elects should be disqualified for policy disagreements. I do not think they should be disqualified because they won the Electoral College instead of the popular vote. However, now I am asked to cast a vote on Dec. 19 for someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office,
Suprun went on to make a number of references to Hollywood, from Trumps Twitter tirades accusing the Saturday Night Live cast of bias, to Darth Vader and the Dark Side of the Force.
Rogue One, the latest Star Wars installment, arrives later this month. I am not taking my children to see it to celebrate evil, but to show them that light can overcome it, he wrote.

He was not just talking about Trump when referring to President-elects. The context told me that it was about ‘any’ president-elect and not just for this particular instance, i.e., more than one.
Therefore, presidents-elect is the correct term.
In a perfect world, the office of "Elector" would not exist. Nor would any other government office. Nor would government at all.
We do not live in a perfect world. Does Texas legally bind its Electors to the statewide vote? If not, your beef is with the Texas legislature, not with this fellow.
How does a F’in leftist get to be an elector in TX?
Wonder how many emails he exchanged with Anthony Weiner. Sounds like someone has something on him.
News flash: They’re going to drop the news after you serve your purpose anyway, dummy.
Rogue one! That’s pathetic. He won’t vote for Trump because “por la raza todo, fuera de la raza, nada” He is a racist. He wants more people who look like him in the United States and he doesn’t care about rule of law.
GOOD because I would have replaced him if it were up to me.
If he were saying he was going to cast his vote for another viable candidate (one who actually had a chance to win), then I might say that was in keeping with the original intent of the electoral college.
In this case, he says he is going to throw away his vote on an inconsequential candidate, possibly Kasich. He is effectively removing a vote from the only tally that counts, the same as if he were voting for Bugs Bunny. It might be cleaver when the general voting public does that, but electors are supposed to take their jobs more seriously, since they are casting a vote that represents millions of us and not just themselves.
He is irresponsible and abusing his position to make a petty, personal statement. He has a solemn duty to do his best by the people of this country. This is no time for grandstanding. I think he should be removed, if at all possible, because his disrespect makes him an inappropriate choice. It would send a message to the other electors that We the People are not to be trifled with.
The way the first elector resigned for his personal objection to Trump was respectful of the process. There is no shame in recusing yourself.
Like obama was qualified? HA!
This idiot is a PARAMEDIC?? OMG!!! What a DOPE.
Unless all your kids are over age 13, they won’t be allowed into that movie.
I wouldn’t vote for Arrec Bardwin as President, either. Apparently this lunatic doesn’t know that he’s not Trump.
