Heavy turnout in northern Italy lead to the defeat of the Italian constitutional referendum.
Exit polls project it will lose by 10 points. No vote is 54%-58%.
Expect Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to submit his resignation soon.

Note to GOP: leave the 17th amendment alone. It is just fine along with the electoral college

And maybe enough to sweep Marine Le Pen into office in France? Change in Austria?
To: Mariner
Italians voted “no” to having the government getting things done faster.
And they voted no confidence in Renzi.

All I read was that he was going to eliminate a layer of government and cut the senate to 100 positions. What’s the downside of this guy?
To: goldstategop
I think I read that the EU fat cats wanted a “yes” vote.

Austria couldnt get it doneAustria is too close to the epicenter of EU Europe, which is eventually going to consist of Germany, the Low Countries, Austria, Denmark, and (maybe) Scandinavia--a kind of fourth reich, but not at all like the third one.

He was going to turn the Senate into a consultative assembly similar to the UK House Of Lords.
Critics saw it as eliminating a check on the government.
Well, that’s gone now.
