Note to GOP: leave the 17th amendment alone. It is just fine along with the electoral college

Ummm... yes, keep the electoral college, but NUKE the 17th. Vaporize the 17th. The worst thing to befall this republic.

17th Amendment needs to have a stake driven through its heart.

It removed any control the states had over their creation, the Federal government, and turned the Senate into nothing more than a more exclusive, more expensive version of the House.

Electoral college is fine.

The 17th on the other hand diluted states rights. Seen your snarky pro big government crap on here before tonight. Let me guess.... You do not belong here. You have a globalist agenda.

The 17th Amendment isn’t going anywhere, unfortunately. Trying take away one’s ability to vote for someone directly would be like shaking a hornet’s nest and sticking it on your head because too many Americans believe the more they get to vote the safer they will become.

Most Americans are completely ignorant of the dangers of direct democracy. De Tocqueville warned against it but he is not well read.

The 17th is mob rule.

By this logic we would have President Hillary Clinton.

That is some of the most twisted logic I have ever read. The 17th allows the big cities to choose our States' Senators. The College prevents the big cities from electing our Nation's President. Phooey!

Repeal the 17th!!!
