Green Party switches strategy in Pennsylvania recount bid

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Green Party-backed campaign changed its strategy to force a statewide recount of Pennsylvania's Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, and said late Saturday night that it will seek help in the federal courts, rather than the state courts.

The announcement that it would seek an emergency federal court order on Monday for a recount came hours after it dropped a case in the state courts.

"Make no mistake — the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania," recount campaign lawyer Jonathan Abady said in a statement issued around 11:30 p.m. "We are committed to this fight to protect the civil and voting rights of all Americans."

"She and her attorneys know they have little to no chance of getting relief from the Federal Courts. Even an Obama judge would demand some prima facia evidence of fraud or tabulation error before ruling in her favor (she has acknowledged she has NONE). Also, the state of Pennsylvania has done nothing unconstitutional to her.

There is no justification for the Federal Courts to get involved in her case - no violation of her rights and no violations of Federal Laws in the state dealing with her.

Bada boom bada bing, the Constitution is a beautiful thing.

The GP is just playing out their thin rope, ya'll. "For eleventy million dollars, we took our case to the courts." And accomplished nothing other than certifying President Trump did indeed win WI, MI, PA, and about 57 other states.

So it’s Trump’s fault? lmao!

He doesn’t need to grow up, he’s already a grown up.

I love his big mouth and I voted for that big mouth.

I hope he continues to say the things he does. It doesn’t make me cringe. He’s saying what I’m thinking. I’ve spent the last few decades hoping an elected official, and this time the POTUS, the most important person in the entire world, say these things and say them exactly how he’s saying them.

First time since Reagan I was happy to vote!

Was Obama “presidential?” Was GW Bush “presidential?” Was Clinton “presidential?”

Hell no! I want and voted for Trump and I hope he remains just as he is...

don’t they realize that if they somehow manage to corrupt and throw the vote ,millions of us will come hunting them ?

Know they don't know that, nor do they believe it for one second.

Can't blame them for thinking the right are a bunch of weakling blowhards. When's the last time you've seen conservatives burn a town down in anger?

No they won’t but it doesn’t matter. Trump has the balls and the legal allies to fight it. It’s a breath of fresh air.

The PA Constitution allows for election challenges at the state level.

Stein was required to post a $1 million bond before the hearing Monday, which she refused to do.

The claim that she will take this to Federal Court is preposterous, given that courts require litigants to post bond all the time, and her refusal to do so isn't going to viewed favorably by a court at any level; it shows a lack of respect for due process and for the court.

Thank God he doesn’t need to “grow up” and says what we voted for him to say and do. Finally.

Hopefully, the federal courts will not cater to their collective mental breakdown.

More than a few of their fellow mental cases are on the federal bench. We shall see how far this insanity goes before something stops it.

And EVERYONE can see just how great a president Trump is going to be, though some still refuse to admit it.

yes and someone else said that the cancelling of the state case will effect the federal suit because they have failed on remedy at the state level. hope that is true.

This is all subterfuge and playing by hoary Alinsky rules, neither of which work for them/against Trump. All it is doing is waking more and more Americans up. The stupid "TRUE BELIEVERS" never shall awake; sadly.

But one good thing.....it makes the usual DEM donors snap their collective purses shut; except for Soros, who apparently doesn't care how much money he throws down rat holes.

Can you extrapolate on that? My first reaction was “this person is being an idiot” ... but that’s not constructive. Can you develop that thought? ... did i call anyone an idiot? i usually only do that in conversations with my co-workers and my gf and not about her.

They refused to pay the 1 million dollar bond to pay for the recount.

They lied about not having the money to pay the bond. They have plenty of cash, and Clinton/Soros have unlimited funds to fuel this thing.

The reason they backed down, is that they couldn't meet the basic legal requirement to bring the case - which is, prima facie evidence of election fraud.
