Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Congress will act early next year to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care law but delay the changes as Republicans try to come up with an alternative. […]

Speaking in Louisville, McConnell cautioned that the law’s critics “can’t just snap your fingers and go from where we are today to where we’re headed.” He said a replacement to the health care law will be done in a “phased-in way.” …

Oh, you can also put dollars in employee pay checks (business deductible expense) and create 1.5x tax credit for citizens to encourage the purchase of insurance coverage. Win win, high risk pool covers the rest vs Medicaid, and fed gov can purchase school accident insurance for free and reduced children and upgrade to include wellness checks (it already covers accidents for school children).

These options would identify and cover those Obamacare was meant to touch, but with existing programs that have been effective for over 50 years. QUIT reinventing the wheel to pad the pockets of health ins company political donors!

One would think that after Trump gave McConnell’s wife that high paying cushy job, Mitch would be a little more cooperative.

Still no way 2/3 simply close their doors in 90 days. No way.

not going to happen. the ACA was an insurance scam. i doubt there are few if any ACA requirements for the docs. it was to be a screwed up single payer insurance scam. the docs would be killed off later. docs still have an oath. and the inscos would still pay. no reason to stop that money train.

Policies that will be issued in 2017 are already in place. Policies in 2018 are being currently negotiated with states. Any changes cannot take effect until policies issued in 2019.

as far as I can discern, the ONLY decent thing McConnell has done in this entire Congressional session has been to say NO to Obama’s last Court nomination

other than that, and I am thankful for that .... but other than that, McConnell has behaved like a complete lackey to the Obama/Soros/Democrappic demon machine, imho.

I hope the R party can find a new senate leader ASAP. Mr Trump will be more effective with someone new in there...

well mitch:

since you and the gopes love obamacare so much, how’s about this deal:

you *repeal* it off all of us and “replace” it on you and all your unsavory uniparty ilk.

btw mitch. you have the house, senate and presidency now. i thought that was what you gopes said you needed to repeal obamacare? what gives mitch? was that just another joke on us knuckle draggers after all?

Agreed. McConnell is signaling that he intends to slow-walk any healthcare reforms.

"The Dems snapped their fingers and voilà, Obamacare."

Yes, if Trumpcare requires new federal powers, powers not listed among the very few powers of the Constitution's Section 8 of Article I, then a required new healthcare amendment to the Constitution is probably going to take some time — the states not oblgated to ratify it anyway.

In the meanwhile, patriots need to work with Trump to politically “force” the corrupt feds to surrender state powers that they have stolen from the states back to the states.

This also includes putting a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify with its Section 8-limited powers.

In fact, once unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped, the states would probably find a tsunami of new revenues that they could use to experiment with their own healthcare programs without interference from the feds.

McConnell cautions replacement to health law to take time

It would be nice if they replaced McConnell in about the first fifteen minutes of the new Congress.

Bullcrap. You could repeal Ebolacare in probably a single page. That should, presumably within a year, restore the SQA, which is already better than Ebolacare. Not ideal, and some changes should probably still be made to correct the damage done by leftist tyrants previous to Ebola, but no one can deny that the previous system was at least better than Osamacare and should be easy to get to.

Just spoke to a health care executive tonight about repealing the AFA. He says that there is no way congress is going to take health care away from millions who had none before.

They expect some cosmetic changes, but no real roll back. It would be political suicide.

Not what I wanted to hear, but when he started going into the details - like are you going to take pregnant women and patients being treated for cancer off the insurance roles - it started to make sense, unfortunately.

At best we are looking at a slow roll back.
