Pfc. Mattern was laid to rest with full Military Honors in the Halllowed Grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 21 November 2016.

Feeling bad for the soldiers at Fort Rich....right now BIG booms and all weekend...artillery practice. On it’s way to zero by 6am and then a high of 4 on Saturday. The Sunday high is maybe -4 with a low of -11. Those guys are going to be COLD!!

The 2004 biopic of Cole Porter, “De-Lovely,” featured the Angel Gabriel reviewing Cole’s life, presumably after he has died at his piano in 1964. It’s fascinating and depressing at the same time. Some of the musical performances are authentic, and some are current. This one is somewhere in between.
