President-elect Donald Trump has chosen retired Marine Gen. James N. Mattis to be secretary of defense, nominating a former senior military officer who led operations across the Middle East to run the Pentagon less than four years after he hung up his uniform, according to people familiar with the decision.

He seems to be about the closest thing to the late, great Patton to have come along since 1945. To me, this is Trump’s best choice yet. No one will dare to mess with us - which will keep us out of wars, saving lots of blood and treasure. The whole idea is to be that wolverine that no want EVER wants to mess with, under ANY circumstances.

My Marine nephew got out about a month ago after serving four years. I wonder if he’s having second thoughts now. He said morale was really in the dumpster under Oblowhard.
