A Mexican lawmaker says Carriers deal with President-elect Donald Trump keeping about 1,000 manufacturing jobs in the U.S. will only hurt the air conditioning giant.
The implications are very serious, not only for Nuevo Leon, but for Carrier, Sen. Marcella Guerra said Wednesday of Carriers decision and its impact on her state, according to The Associated Press.
The one who is going to suffer from this is the company because their products are going to be more expensive. I understand the fight, because it is same fight all we politicians carry out.
Trumps team and Carrier announced late Tuesday they had reached an agreement to halt nearly 1,000 jobs in Indiana from leaving for Mexico. Carrier previously announced in March it would shutter a plant in Indianapolis, effectively eliminating 1,400 U.S. jobs. . .

These millions of dollars need to be sequestered into a banking account to pay for border security.
Indeed,Mexico forgets we can use import tariffs so that they pay for the wall and the dilapidating military and country. We can then lower our income tax and reaulting cost of living for being Americans who export.
Exactly. What’s “Free Trade” about it when we are shackled by our own business punishing laws? It’s more than just high wages.
All I see are the bond holders who were screwed to bail out the UAW. Thanks, but no thanks.
WINNING!!!!!
My next AC unit will be a Carrier. GUARANTEED!
God bless you, Battle Axe. Amen.
-——And soon Mexico will suffer as the heroine and cocaine crossing our Southern border will come to a dead halt.-——
I wish that was true...a wall isn’t going to stop the cartels from finding ways to get drugs into our country....via the international crossings...
It sure will help....to a degree
The wall will stop a lot of illegal immigration...which is a small part of the drug problem...

Agreed, a military solution is required. Short, rapid, and unstoppable. In and back out.
Its justifiable under international law.
Nothing else will work.
And the wall financing begins even before Trump takes office
One of? How many furnaces do you need?
I have a Carrier furnace (20+ years old) and ditto central air. Both get annual maintenance checks. Very satisfied with Carrier products.
You have to see both sides.
Side one, and let’s be honest here, NAFTA brought the American Consumer great affordable quality products, and loads and loads of cheap produce. Just go to Walmart and all the others. We never had produce like that, varied and affordable.
In short, it’s a global market. This is good for everyone.
Side two, the global market was at the expense of our jobs and growth. True, all that money abroad had to come here, but our politicians did the double wammy on us, and were going to tax the heck out of it.
In short, the democrats arranged global marketing to favor the few here. Eventually, we’re the ones suffering as we evolve into a service industry with A BUNCH OF IGNORANT COLLEGE KIDS.. WHO DON’T KNOW NOTHIN ABOUT NOTHIN.
Trump, is for free trade, but for fair trade.
Once again we’re the leader. Obama. Did anyone learn anything from this guy? He’s teaching you and me about economy and what’s best for us?
The smallness of the man always shows when he sits next to someone like Trump or Netanyahu.
Trump needs to do his thing, and listen to know one.
PREDICTION:RUDY WILL BE THE NEXT SOS.
they then can pay welfare to all their uneducated people who used to get to America, and they can deal with illegals who are stuck in their country.
Mexico has had it good for far too long, and those days of pissing over this country can come to an end.
My son is a Sales Engineer for Trane, and regularly competes against Carrier for big jobs. When I had mentioned to him the original story that Carrier was moving the jobs to Mexico, I asked him how he though that might affect Trane. His response was that he didn’t think it was going to help Carrier that much because they were already having reliability issues with product, and moving the production to Mexico might only exacerbate the problem, and worsen the perception.
When I shop, I look for the Made in America tag. I will pay more for Made in America. I know some family has a member producing the product.
At present, I avoid American products, due to the present POTUS and SOS, and their expressed support for BDS. That will change on 20 Jan ‘17.
Build it so it prevents people, drugs, money, agricultural produce and manufactured goods from entering.Mexico is our enemy. Not militarily but in *every* other way.
IIRC there are at least one or two (if not more) cars sold in this country that are made in Mexico.I used to buy GM until some time ago I came to the realization that the leaders of the UAW were my enemies so,as a result,I've bought Japanese and German ever since. As for Mexican made cars,I'll walk before I own one.Mexico has absolutely *nothing* that I need *or* want.
Chill parasite Marcella Guerra. Get a real job.
I bet some air conditioners will be sold while the wall is being built.
