Ravaged by months of drought, huge swaths of the southeast United States are on fire, but you wouldnt know it judging by national media coverage.
A total of six states in the southeast (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi) are currently suffering from exceptional drought, a category reserved for the most severe drought conditions, according to the National Drought Mitigation Center. The majority of land in four states (Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia) are facing extreme drought, the second most severe level.

But because its not happening in New York or D.C. or Los Angeles, it doesnt really count as news. When a few snowflakes begin to fall in Washington, its a national emergency. When Los Angeles has a lot of traffic on Thanksgiving, it requires an international APB. But when tens of thousands of acres are burning in the South following months of drought, it barely warrants a shrug.

PROVERBS 17:5
Those who mock the poor insult their Maker; those who rejoice at the misfortune of others will be punished.
course not.
I remember about 13 years ago I worked up in Boston, and the sneers, and bigotry towards the south was always there in their elitist , liberal circles.
They would say how backward, and racist the south was, yet never saw their own hypocrisy about being bigots towards the south, and southerners.
People will not riot, nor want handouts . Instead people like Dolly Parton, and the Churches will organise and help to rebuild.
Muslims might be setting both
watch for news of coordinated arson causing the Tennessee fires
It wont be on the lamestream media
We’re their any illegal settlements in the path of the fire? No? Well there’s your problem, it’s just folks who voted for Trump, let them burn ...
There’s nothing nastier than a nasty Yankee. And Boston has the nastiest.
Wave a Confederate flag around. The media will come running!
I’m 100% certain they will not do that.
Liberal elites are the haters... always have been... the press won’t even look into this...
We got around two inches of rain last night and expecting that much tonight. It was SO nice to get outside for my walk today without having to wear a respirator because of smoke. We have only had two or three smokeless days in a month. I’m south of Knoxville and only about 90 minutes from the Smokey’s and even closer to the Cherokee National Forest.
I hope the rain tonight will put out the rest of the fires in the mountains. The bad thing there and here last night was the winds. I thought the winds were going to take the house apart and it blew like that for a few hours before it rained. That’s why the fires in the mountains spread so fast.
Ya, there’s no reporting on this recent rain, it rained here for 8 hours + straight, it had to put out the fires ?
When she has NO CHANCE AT ALL. All it will do at worse is throw the election to the House which will only confirm Trump the winner.
Same here. Thank God for FR
Oh I agree 100%. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
I’m from Townsend...I don’t use Twitter, but I’d love to get my hands on those who tweeted those awful messages shown above...
They used to mention how the south was still fighting the war, and when I pointed out it is they who say the battle flag should not be flown, how it is they who make fun of the south, then they would never see it. It was more fun for them to tell each other how smart they are, how progressive they were, and how dumb others were, while patting each other on the backs.
It seems that it wasn’t enough to get them out in the mountains. The fire there was really raging. Most of those mountains are hard to get to with fire fighting equipment and the wind was so strong they couldn’t get helicopters in to drop water. It put them out locally where I am but from what I hear it wasn’t enough in the Smokey’s. Maybe tonight if the winds don’t whip them up again. Lots of pines up there to fuel it.
I returned to Texas 5 years ago after 10 long years in Minnesota. It was like living in a foreign country, with people looking down at the South, but a special hatred for Texas.
My guess is these fires were started by either Jihadists or leftists pissed off at the election....
The bitter, hateful and classless people are noticed because they are the loudest. There are a lot of us in the north who are heartbroken for what’s happening to our countrymen in Tennessee and have been offering many prayers on their behalf.
