If youve shaken that present with your name on it under the Christmas tree, and you think its the drone you have been asking for, prepare to register that new toy with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Beginning last December, owners of Unmanned Aerial Systems weighing a half pound or more were required to register the device online with the federal agency, or risk civil penalties up to $27,500 and possible criminal charges that carry fines of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment for three years.
Drones are particularly irksome in the FLAT parts of the country. With many hills there might be SOME relief.
We have a nice mix of hills, mountains and flats.
Extremely nice mix. Especially the Huachuca Valley.
All things are forbidden except those things will are explicitly allowed by your benevolent masters.
Series? ThIs huGh.
Oh fer crissakes...over 90% of "drones" are small quadcopter toys, little different than model aircraft that have been around for 100 years, and are seldom visible or audible 1/2 mile away. And they are seldom aloft more the 20 minutes at a time.
On the other hand, have you ever gazed upon the pastoral beauty of a wind farm that NEVER goes away? And stretches from horizon to horizon?
I’ve been looking into purchasing one to use as a killer drone. I plan to paint it up like the Lincoln float car from Animal House LOL
R/C aircraft have indeed been around since the 1940's. The early ones used vacuum tube receivers, which is pretty wild to think about. Of course the hobby really took off (so to speak) once transistors came into play.
yup and if they weigh over 0.55 lbs, you need a pilot’s license and if you use it to make money, no matter the weight, you need a pilot’s license.
This is until they come up with specific rules for drones.
1. No need to blaspheme.
2. I have gazed at them.
