Barney Miller was a staple of TV viewing in my family when I was growing up.

I have the boxed set and during my 30 mins of lunch break in my office, I watched an episode just about every day.

I watch,’Barney Miller’ in re-runs every once in a while. Loved Harris. Glass was great in, ‘Firefly,’ too!

Someone, ANYONE, PLEASE bring back, ‘Firefly!’

That leaves Max (Wojohowitz / Wojnowitz) Gail, Gregory (Chano) Sierra, Alice (Wentworth) Lavin, and Barbara (Mrs. Miller) Barrie?

For a long time I thought Abe Vigoda was going to outlive them all.

When "Barney Miller" ended, and "they" were sent off to other precincts, I asked a coworker that was originally from Brooklyn what was so bad about Flushing, where "Ron Glass" was being assigned.

He had to explain the upscale detective being sent to an area called "Flushing". A phoned-in "joke" on the part of the writers, imho, and the character deserved better.

I just saw that final episode for the first time a few weeks ago. It made me sad. :(

71 is too young.

Still younger was Reinhold Weege, a staff writer and producer of "Barney Miller", who died at age 62 in 2012. He went from greatness to further greatness when he created "Night Court" in 1982 for broadcast in 1984. The faces we see on these shows need those guys & gals that write the stories and dialog to keep them going. "Barney Miller" and "Night Court" had GREAT writing and stories!

Ron was a Hoosier? Damn. I feel so ashamed I never knew that. Knew about Florence.

Shepard Brook was a Hoosier. Wow.

One of Ron’s lines...I had thought of it just the other day, “not if you want to be sharp the next day.” The subject of if you are doing a 3 sum with 2 chicks.

Dang. He was a good guy.

In one scene he has apprehended a young drug dealer who had way more money than he did. The young drug dealer was razzing him about how he made way more money than Harris.

He turns around and thunders,

“Oh yeah! Well I have something you’ll never have.....credit!”

Great actor.
