The camera loved Maurice, and no matter what era he made a film, he was adorable. “Can-Can” from 1960 was another Hollywood musical recycling Cole’s songs, and Maurice takes it for a short spin around the block.

This 1967 recording gives the classic a fine progressive jazz workout. It starts out like Rachmaninov, but then Dave takes it in a different direction.

DIANA KRALL: “JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS”

She sang it in the 2004 biopic “De-Lovely,” and here it’s combined in a video with grainy scenes from “CSI.” Why? I don’t know; I never watched the show. Her rendition is a kind of laid back jazz version.
