I’m pretty sure that politics will be a topic that we’ll all avoid at Thanksgiving this year. Like it is every year. It makes for a more enjoyable day.
Yes. Obviously.
But I am simply cooking the biggest Turkey I can find ( about 27 pounds, serving it with a platter calligraphic sign “ The Corpse of Obama Socialist Utopianism, enjoy it while you can.( This was not a free bird.)”
That should get the politics over right at the beginning.
The best Christmas at the inlaws, around impeachment of Clinton.
I said they had evidence of rape, My brother in law started yelling at the top of his lungs... pounding the table, he went ballistic. A great moment! :)
My family has always had a long-standing unwritten rule, that politics and religion (with the exception of the blessing before the meal begins) were not subjects of discourse at the communal table for the holidays. Makes for too much tension, high blood pressures and indigestion. No one had to tell us that, leastwise not the press.
I don't need some newspaper's advice on how to function in life. Get back to doing your real jobs of investigating and reporting to the American people, how crooked and criminal some politicians are and not how we should react to that news. This is not a therapy session.
You could always fill Trevor’s plate and them start taking food from it for others at the table...those who got less than him or who lost the wishbone lottery...he didn’t need all that....
Visual object lessons beat words any day...
:]
I’ve been saying for a while, that an effective argument for reducing government power is to tell a lib “Think about how much power Obama has accumulated to act on the basis of Executive Orders. Now visualize all that power in the hands of Donald Trump”.
How to explain Trump? Easy. Donald Trump won. Hillary Clinton lost. Pass the cranberry sauce, please.
In all seriousness, all but two family members voted for President-Elect Donald J. Trump. They are still seriously stinging from Trump’s smackdown of the harridan. Conservatives are the better people, I am firmly convinced of this. Little, if any, politics will be discussed. I and a few family members are going to be wearing bright red at today’s celebration, as a subtle dig at the two HRC snowflakes in our midst. I said conservatives were better, not angels. ;)
I'm thinking of just writing out a questionnaire for them instead of torturing them at the table.
I was involved in Trump flash mobs but will not bring up politics at dinner today. The liberals who will be there have been brainwashed by CNN, etc. and they make no sense. I want my 8 yr old grandaughter, who is a Trump supporter, to have a nice day and a happy memory.
I have such a terrible memory, I mean I cannot recall, no matter how hard I concentrate, how nice Thanksgiving was in 2008. How the family LEFTISTS made such effort to not gloat, to help us see how “Hope and Change” would lead to such great things after the disaster that 2008 became. How their Presidential Candidate, soon to be President, would help us to redistribute our wealth because, after you have so much, you need to share your wealth (at the Government’s dictate!)
Can anybody help me to remember those kind LEFTIST and how they gently tamped down those screaming, rioting McCain supporters?
If you visit relatives today to talk politics, then you are a rude jackass no matter what side you are on.
Why waste time telling the truth to idiots. Truth and decency are not in their dictionary.
Thanks! But I don’t need this today......all the relatives I am seeing voted for TRUMP! : ))))))
There is no “educating” the stupid. They believe in and act on emotions. There is no brain activity; facts have no meaning. The best thing to do is pat them on the head and say “Well bless your little heart”.

Suppose I lucked out. My parents didn’t raise any libs and i don’t associate with my hitlery supporting cousins in Austin. We’re all AR/AK owning Trump voters, nary a fag or lib among us. We all discuss politics with glee these days
Voters who expect Trump to bring limited government are likely to be very disappointed.
