Anti-Trump secessionists filed formal paperwork Monday launching their petition drive aimed at separating California from the union by first putting the issue before voters on the 2018 ballot.
A petition submitted by the Yes California Independence Campaign calls for repealing language in the state constitution that describes California as an inseparable part of the nation and holding a vote on independence on March 13, 2019.

Canada doesn’t want these people. They work hard not to have suck pump people.
One needs lots of money to emigrate to Canada. and California would not be enough.

It would be great if they really did secede.
Since they love open borders and illegal immigrants, we could build a secure wall and send all the illegals to their welcoming arms.

Good luck getting any water from the Colorado River, and by the way, a good portion of their electricity is generated in Nevada and Utah.
To: longtermmemmory
No more Colorado River water.

These neo Unionists are big talking pussies. If the current batch of millenials stormed the beaches at Normandy, Rommel could have held them off with an iPhone, Twitter and Instagram.

If the Unionists start something in the face of a CA secession I will have to go to CA and fight for them on general principles.

1. They lose all current intellectual Patent, copyright and trademarks.
I doubt that's possible. If California does go, we won't be lengthening copyright terms, though, and may even shorten them.
Hollywood -- and especially Disney -- are the reason we keep extending copyright periods.
2. We keep San Diego and San Francisco.
85% of the vote in San Francisco went for Clinton. You won't be able to keep them in the union if California goes.
But there's a case for keeping federal bases whatever happens. National parks and forests, too?
Of course, secession isn't going to happen.
