President-elect Donald Trump is not proposing a registry based on a religion, his incoming chief of staff Reince Priebus said Sunday, adding that people from countries posing terrorism concerns would be temporarily barred from entry into the U.S. until a better vetting system is put in place.
Asked on NBCs Meet the Press whether he could equivocally rule out a registry for Muslims, Priebus replied, Look I'm not going to rule out anything, but I wouldnt were not going to have a registry based on a religion.
He continued that there are some people, certainly not all people, who are radicalized.
There are some people that have to be prevented from coming into this country.

Of course, Rinse implies that Islam is a religion rather than a bellicose political system.
Wouldn’t want one based on religion - it should be based on relevant data and include religion as a line item with a box for other notes as applicable.
The Muslim registry is an invention of the MSM. The immediate suspension of Syrian refugees is fantastic
Yes, that would be great if Priebus or others lectured the questioner: “Did you know that some countries have governments that mandate only one religion and that religion is deeply integrated in their government? You might not know that because our country is not that way.”
What if it were known ISIS members? They are muslims. Would they be exempt because of their religion? Can’t these idiots look at Europe?
“”Our nation is not served by the denigration of Islam or by the introduction of ineffective and discriminatory policies targeting Muslims.””
Heck, our country was better served when their religion didn’t stand out from any other religion in the United States. It was better served when they didn’t seek special privileges. It was better served when we didn’t even realize they were here. It was better served before they emerged and decided they wanted to kill us. It was better served when the politicians decided they couldn’t offend them but they could offend the rest of us.
It’s not a religion. It’s a violent world-domination ideology cleverly disguised as a religion.
Thinly disguised, really.
I am as tolerant as they come but Islam is a very disturbing brand, poisonous to all it consumes.
I’ve done voluminous reading on the subject of Islam. For hundreds of years and longer, it has been recognized as a cancer on its hosts. Its adherents may at first appear agreeable, pleasant, peaceful but that is all a masquerade of its true intent.
Even Voltaire of 18th Century France, who advocated for Freedom of Religion, was dead set against Islam.
I agree with others here and elsewhere that Islam is two-faced, one as a religion and the other as a system of repressive government rule.
The solution I have found to the problem of Islamic insanity of that of Mustafa Atatürk who succeeded in taking the belief system of Islam and stuffing it into an internal struggle of a believer with itself. In other words, the conflict with infidels is a conflict that occurs INSIDE the Muslim soul, not as an outward struggle played out in insane murder and jihad. Such a redefinition takes a lot of power to implement but I think it’s worth it.
Islam will go with a low profile for awhile under Trump but will seek as it does to impose itself at the first opportunity. It needs to be nipped in the bud now in America.
It is simply incompatible with an advanced civilization such as America.
Across the street from where my grandson goes to school, is a row of subsidized houses. The other week they arrested some Syrian dude for welfare fraud. He was picking up over 300K per year. 4 wives and 34 children. Why was he admitted to the US with 4 wives? That’s bigamy.
I didn’t know that COS set policy now.
Either register them or we’re gonna start registering hits on them. GDSOB’S!
I must be naive, but I would have thought that there would be a registry of all persons legally allowed into the country.
Every person born in the United States is registered. Is it too much to require that the same rule applies to immigrants.
Turkey is a good example to study. The cities are inhabited by a capitalistic cosmopolitan educated class whereas the rural areas are largely inhabited by the opposite categories.
Radical Islam has crept into rural southeast Turkey by way of a contagion from Iran, Syria, Northern Iraq. The rural Muslims there have been radicalized.
Atatürk faced the same radical type elements and succeeded in putting them in a box for a long time. That's why I study the history of Atatürk. It's instructive and provides clues on how to deal with the ideological aspects of the Islamic menace.
Excellent answer. Priebus needs you on his staff.
There are over 25 countries we don't require visas from so we have no idea when their people are coming here until they arrive. Those countries include France, Belgium, and the UK which all have active terror cells operating with in their borders.
A sane individual would think no. But evidently the thinking of those in positions of power is , yes it is. After all, it is the American sheep, not the foreign sheep that need to be controlled and confined.
Shakespeare’s “The Merchant Of Venice” points to an acceptance of islam and a rejection of Judaism that still very much dominates Europe.
