Front National leader Marine Le Pen has taken a sizeable lead over Nicolas Sarkozy in a new French presidential election poll. The far-right leader had 29 per cent of the vote when pitted against Les Républicains former president, who was eight points behind, and held a 15-point lead over the Parti de Gauches Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the poll released by Ipsos. It was one of five scenarios for the first round of Frances 2017 presidential elections on 23 April, although one that did not include Les Républicains Alain Juppe who remains strong favourite to succeed Francois Hollande as leader. The Nazis wanted to impose themselves on the entire continent. Once the war started, Hitler talked in terms of being the leader of the entire continent, and not just Germany.
Hitler wanted a bunch of puppet states subservient to Berlin. Substitute Brussels for Berlin, and you have the EU.
Great news ! Vive Le Pen !
just polls. not votes.
Sarkozy has lost in round 1 of their primary (which does not include LePen) so he is out of the running.
Sarkozy has been “Jebbed.”
hahah! exactly
“Les Republicans” of Sarkozy were holding a primary election today with top two onto the second round next week.....
National Front is a different party.
Results from today’s primary (8 out of 10 centers reporting)
Fillon at 44 percent, Juppe at 28 percent, Sarkozy at 21 percent.
Runoff for top two next Sunday.
The whole world is fighting globalization. There is a cadre of elitists attempting to solidify their power forever by dissolving nation states. Maybe now is not our time to succumb.
Why does the press persist in labeling Marine Le Pen as “far right”?
That term is an adhesive label they stick on anything they don't like. It bears no other relation to the thing it attaches to.
At least she has Good fasion sense. Unlike that Old Commie Battle Axe Trump just retired.
Frexit coming.
Completely irrelevant. Sarkozy is out.
Viva a Muslim free France!
we are getting our would back....were watching history
The French Right had the first round of it’s primary, high turnout.
Sarko came in third and was eliminated.
Former PM Francois Fillon came from behind with a late charge and place first, almost avoided a runoff with Former PM Alain Juppe, the frontrunner until recently.
Fillion is regarded as a little to the left of Sark I think but it sounds like he might be a little to the right on some things. He is noted as a Thatcher admirer. Juppe is on the left of the “right”, clearly worse than Sarko and Fillon.
Leftists, realizing that their candidate is likely to place third in the general election, committed mass fraud, falsely claiming to believe in the ideals of the right, so they could vote for Juppe. They were particularly afraid that Sarko had a greater chance of losing to LePen.
Fillion is now the favorite for the nomination but leftist fraud for Juppe is still a factor.
France is used to being conquered and outliving the conquerors, but it would be seriously f@#$ed up for long time.
Fillion is the candidate who is not tainted by any scandal like both Juppe and Sarkozy were.
I sense the primary election was flooded with support for Fillion who is considered to be the Left side of his party and there’s a reason he is being promoted.
The most likely outcome is that Marine LePen and the candidate who wins next week’s runoff for “The Republicans”
(Les Republicans) as the “Right” is called in France will face off on May 7th next year following the April 23rd elimination round of the presidential election.
Fillion will appeal to the Socialists-Left and probably be the best candidate to beat LePen in the runoff.
I have heard a theory that at this stage many of Fillon votes might not stay with him in the next round because he was the guy to vote for when you want to vote against Sarkozy.
What do you think about that?
