Front National leader Marine Le Pen has taken a sizeable lead over Nicolas Sarkozy in a new French presidential election poll.

The far-right leader had 29 per cent of the vote when pitted against Les Républicains’ former president, who was eight points behind, and held a 15-point lead over the Parti de Gauche’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the poll released by Ipsos.

It was one of five scenarios for the first round of France’s 2017 presidential elections on 23 April, although one that did not include Les Républicains’ Alain Juppe – who remains strong favourite to succeed Francois Hollande as leader.

A nationalist and socialist is not a good combination in Europe.

Nazis weren’t nationalists. A nationalist believes in nations with borders, language and culture.

The Nazis SURE didn’t respect the borders, language and culture of other nations.

She needs 40+% in the first round to have a good enough chance in the runoff. French voters very often use the first election to vent, and only get serious in the runoff.

Polls also say Sarkozy probably won’t be the Republicans nominee. Juppé has him beat 58-42.

“They” will do their best to find a way to beat her ... just like in the USA (and Israel, btw)

France is their last stand for the EU. If Le Pen wins, the EU is practically finished. This might be more important than Trump. At least Trump won't break up America.

Trump + Le Pen = Reagan + Thatcher. Unfortunately, Pope Frank does not equal JP2.

The Republicans primaries first round votes are being counted right now. After having counted 690000 votes the preliminary results are:

Fillon: 42.8%
Juppé: 26%
Sarkozy: 24%
Le Maire: 3%
NKM: 2.3%
Poisson 1.4%
Copé: 0.3%

Doesn’t look good for Sarkozy.

The stranger elements of French Democracy—the two stage election system put in by General DeGaul. It favors the party in power. But, it is odd but a democratic Republic very unlike ours. The will of the people will be heard.

The Kindle version of Le Camp des Saints is undergoing repair. I will be getting it when they are finished with the “repair”.

Scary stuff.
