The US vice-president elect, Mike Pence, was booed by a theater audience when he attended the hit hip-hop musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night and then had a message about protecting diversity delivered to him from the stage after the curtain call.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump accused theatre-goers of having harassed Pence, writing on Twitter: Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
He also demanded an apology: The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!

Agreed. Imagine if it were some church Christmas choir performing and in walks Hillary and they boo her.
Sounds like an idea. My husband is currently in an off-Broadway show and I had to avoid all the pajama-boy cast who were giving out diaper pins. Hey, I avoided 20 years of the red AIDs ribbon; I’m not gonna wear a diaper pin.
I think Trump is asking the cast to apologize, not the audience.
He is taking the audience members who booed to task.
I doubt they sit. If they do, it’s probably on a folding chair
And so they “tell off” Pence who’s sitting way in the REAR of the place.
Makes THEM look small and petty.
I agree. This behavior is unacceptable. If they keep this up with nobody speaking up, they will keep doing it and it becomes normal behavior. Kids have such wonderful role models these days....not.
Pence must have really crappy taste for both theater and music.
Well, if they booed the cast’s stunt, they were right to boo.
I’m glad to see Mr. Trump has not stopped with his confrontational style now that he’s been elected. For far too long, we on the right side of the isle have just “shut up and took it” when incidents like this have occurred.
Someone said “actions have consequences”, well words do too, and words like the cast took upon themselves to say to the Vice President-Elect demand a response. We can’t stay silent any longer, just playing the “gentleman”. That kind of action is clearly not getting through.
Hopefully, by standing up to these creeps and bullies, the left will start to think twice about doing and saying such things in the future. They aren’t the only ones who should be allowed to form public opinion.
My bet: it was the subject matter. However its treatment, let alone the perversion of the occasion to tell off Pence, made it atrocious.
Well said.
I went to a Christie Moore concert in Dublin 35 years ago and when he hate-mongered Americans I was very incensed. Great voice but I never bought another of his albums, nor a ticket for a concert of his. Some actors and performers are filled with hubris and the best response is to walk away. I admire Trump for speaking truth yet again.
The pics show Pence sitting pretty close up...so not sure then how it only cost him $700
He is neutralizing future demands for apologies... showing that the left isn’t interested in civility.
Donald acts like he actually knows what’s best... I take that with somewhat mixed reaction, but he’s aced it so far.
My guess....Trump has finally said “enough”. By demanding an apology, he’s rallying his supporters to express our outrage with the attempts to cause anarchy. It’s time to call dems in the HOR, US Senate, and TV “news” outlets and complain.
Huh... weird.
Maybe some people get VIP discounts?
Conscienceless, I guess.
Like most blue cities, new york has a lot more horses’ a$$es than horses.
