I take the election of Donald Trump personally not just because my candidate, Hillary Clinton, lost. I take this election personally not because Clinton was a dear friend, a classmate at Yale Law School. I take this election personally not just because it feels like the last best chance for someone of my generation who fought the wars of Second Wave feminism to break that final glass ceiling in national politics. I take this election personally because of how Trump won and what it legitimized. He won despite comments demeaning women in general, and Clinton in particular. He won after demonizing Muslims, immigrants, and black people. This is just talk, some may say not what he really felt. Or better yet, others will dismiss this as being politically correct, code for dont take it seriously.

If the election was held again he just might win all 50’states
“...fought the wars of Second Wave feminism.”
Second wave feminism? Wars?
I would say the destruction of the true feminine women of America. Now we have “knuckle dragging” brutish physically and mentally ugly brutes of a type of crossbreed between males and females called “feminists” that have completely destroyed the once wonderful view that existed for eons between men and women.....called love and devotion.
We now strive for “man-haters” in every corner of society today. What the hell has happened in the past 20 years?
Sucks to be her - and her choice....;-)))
Does anyone even know what that is?!
I would have responded at the Globe site, but that requires a subscription...
Donald Trump has done nothing to hurt American citizens who are women or minorities, nor do I believe he intends to do so. Instead, his movement marks a return to an America where what matters is the content of your character, not the color of your skin (or your gender, for that matter). Character, in that context, also refers to ability.
The Dems had better brace themselves for a lot of angst, as America once again excels under President Trump due to a return to fundamental and sound American principles. There’s hope for Republican rule continuing for many decades to come...
Another brokenhearted Clintoonie. Lighten up Nancy and enjoy the holidays, especially CHRISTMAS. Go down to Starbucks and buy yourself a nice latte or something.
These feigned indigation high-horse wailers have their eyes and ears closed to what ‘their’ side is saying and doing.
“We WON. Get over it.”
This chick needs to take a chill pill. She is more than fawning for attention and acceptance.
There is a world outside of their “safe places” for these narcissistic little cowering snowflakes, in a place called “reality”.
Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, was no paragon of feminism, or of sagacity, or high moral purpose. Herself was in it, well, for Herself, none other, and the whole program was to work out a personal vendetta Herself had against men in general and conservatives in particular. HUGE Daddy issues, as evidenced by her total and complete rejection of the standards by which her father, Hugh Rodham (a Republican in the collar county area surrounding Chicago, and a supporter of Barry Goldwater in 1964). Nixon was the most nearly available personage upon which Herself could direct her wrath upon her first arrival in Washington, DC, as evidenced by the performance in the drafting of the Articles of Impeachment that were being drawn up in 1974. Herself was sharply censured for the cavalier and dismissive way in which she called for the total denial that Nixon may have any recourse in law to counter the charges being directed at him.
For as much as Herself seemed to despise Nixon, Herself was doing her very best to emulate, and in fact greatly exceed the very worst that Nixon ever did, with no compensating effort to also attempt to emulate the good that Nixon brought to the world.
Her last speech, she looked like death warmed over. Red, puffy eyes with dark baggy circles under them, little makeup. Like she was coming off a week-long bender interspersed with inconsolable crying spells. She looked horrible.
She was praised by some idiots on the left, like this Nancy from the Boston Globe, about her courage for coming out in public with out being pasted, spackled and paper-mache'd all up. Please spare us, ILLary. Many of us hadn't eaten yet.
To me, she looked like she was turning into the bull-dyke she really wants to be for Huma but couldn't before because of her public exposure. I'm just sayin'....
This "second wave feminism" is what, exactly? A movement where women embody all of the worst stereotypes--the hysteria, infantile emotionalism, and lack of intellect--promulgated during the Victorian era, and none of the good qualities? And in so acting, they expect to be taken seriously and demand to be treated as equals?
Feminists, you do not break any glass ceilings when you behave so emotionally and childishly that you become a walking argument for not allowing women any rights equal to those of men.
You would be far better off to emulate your WWII era sisters. Remember them? When the country was in a dire situation and the men were all being shipped off to fight, they rolled up their sleeves and pitched in, working in factories and flying as Army Air Corps test pilots, because they felt a sense of duty to their country that had nothing to do with "social justice."
The behavior of modern feminists is the strongest argument possible against the concept that women should be treated equal. They are an embarrassment to rational and intelligent women everywhere.
“a dear friend” who couldn’t bother to come out during the campaign to say she even knew her? I always thought it was odd that neither she nor obozo ever had life long friends stand up and say, “I knew her/him when and they are genuine, sincere, beautiful people.” Likewise with Bill Clinton. Who besides the ones he dragged to DC with him ever admitted even knowing him - anywhere - high school, college, AR... Well, that’s not true - there were plenty of women who admitted that they’d HEARD of him! HA!
Wonder how the old boy is doing? Is he hiding out until the bruising from his black eyes from election night has completely gone away? Just kidding but I’m sure he didn’t survive that night 100% intact...I’ve never heard that he’s a drinker but I don’t think there’s any doubt that she is.
C’mon, guys. This isn’t some ordinary leftist whiner we’re making fun of here. The author personally fought the wars of Second Wave Feminism, and should be treated with appropriate respect.
4 cheers to YOU. I really enjoy asking “lefty” feminists how they felt when Sarah Palin was so viciously portrayed when she was the VP candidate.
All I ever get is a blank look as the answer.
A FEMINIST is defined as a woman/lady/girl who holds closely to a particular roster of political beliefs.
What do mean “will soon become”? They are already there.
So, the election was really all about her, not about what the country wanted.
Stupid AND ugly.
I figured that “as long as we are going there” with this nitwit, that I would delineate what it was like to be one of her deplorables.
That she was a federal judge, speaks to the stupidity of who appointed her. That she teaches at Harvard speaks to the stupidity of the administration of Harvard.
IMHO harvard Law should be burned to the ground, it graduates put them in the stocks every day for a year.
