Fears that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will pull out of the 2015 Paris Agreement to limit global warming pushed almost 200 nations at climate talks in Morocco on Thursday to declare action an "urgent duty".
Trump has called man-made global warming a hoax and has said he will withdraw from the Paris Agreement, which seeks to wean the global economy off fossil fuels this century with a shift to renewable energies such as wind and solar power.
In a statement, the ministers at the meeting said momentum for cutting greenhouse gases was "irreversible" and reaffirmed their commitment to "full implementation" of the Paris accord.
"We call for the highest political commitment to combat climate change, as a matter of urgent priority," they said in the Marrakesh Action Proclamation.
"Our climate is warming at an alarming and unprecedented rate and we have an urgent duty to respond," it said. Delegates applauded, joined hands above their heads in standing ovation after the proclamation was read out.
World temperatures are set to hit the highest since records began in the 19th century this year, beating 2015, triggering a melting of ice sheets, damaging coral reefs and spurring heat waves.

I hope they carry plastic bags with them and don’t leave their urgent duty on the sidewalk.
Not that I’m going to Morocco... ever.
Fear? LOL
What has been done by executive action can be undone by executive action. Suck it up, buttercups - your ilk applauded Obama ruling by executive fiat, and that will be the undoing of his agenda.
How about some action on the Bigfoot problem? It’s getting out of hand.
If you read the text of the agreement....the big thing is....we’re suppose to subsidize everyone else.
Ever notice how hundreds of people fly thousands of miles to lecture the globe about fossil fuel use? Have these morons ever heard of teleconferencing? I go into my office once a month now, and that is just so my co-workers remember what I look like, or to go to the company Christmas party.
I canot wait until President Trump’s EPA exposes the hoax of “settled science” that AGW is real and man is to blame. Trump has the grant money for the next 8 years. He is going to direct those grants away from climate alarmist scientists and toward real scientists who will tell thevtruth about the sun’s impact dominating man’s impact.
This Zhoax is as good as dead.
If they want to make GW their “urgent duty”, then, go for it.
An “urgent duty” on your part does not constitute an “urgent duty” on ours.
And how many of them fly in private planes, like hollywood pretty boys and girls?
And how many keep multiple houses around the world at a constant temperature on the off chance they might need to spend the night in one, like barfara streisand?
Fear their fraud will be exposed.
It is urgent because they have a bunch of U.S. tax dollars they are about to lose.
But to your point about teleconferencing, yes. Of course.
GLOBAL WARMING IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO LIFE ON EARTH SINCE THE PLANET BEGAN.
And yet they don’t think of teleconferencing?
And they aren’t up on the tremendous advances in nuclear power?
If GLOBAL WARMING IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO LIFE ON EARTH SINCE THE PLANET BEGAN, shouldn’t we be talking about nuclear power... and shouldn’t we be talking about it in gotomeetings? Or webex? Or skype?
People get a little agitated when you start messing with “their” money. Which is essentially our tax dollars. STOP IT!
Problem is the global alarmists for climate change have used too much hyperbole to make their case. We live in Tampa Bay, where there is hundreds of waterways and bridges, and tens of thousands of boaters. All they have heard for the past 20 years is that the water levels would rise.
Guess what!!! The same boat that cleared a bridge by 2 ft. at high tide 20 years ago, still clears the same bridge by 2 ft. today...and the real serious boaters would take note of even an inch difference. They are old salts when it comes to this kind of issue.
How about some action on the Bigfoot problem? Its getting out of hand.
A higher percentage of Americans believes in Bigfoot than trusts Hillary.
There maybe global warming but the deal is how much of that is MAN generated. Probably nil. There is this big ball of fire in the sky that may have some influence. Some jerk in Europe saying we must stop global warming is equal to King Canute telling the tide to stop.
And give up enjoying their get-togethers with expensive catered food and wall-to-wall booze?
Nope ,worried about losing all that Cash
