Montgomery Alabama television station WSFA is reporting that President elect Trump has offered the position of United States Attorney General to Senator Jeff Sessions. This would be an awesome pick. Senator Sessions previously has saved as a U.S. Attorney, as Attorney General for the StTe of Alabama, and as a Senator for Alabama for multiple terms.
I’m good with this. Part of me wants Sessions to stay in the Senate but there’s so much more he can do as AG. 2 areas of concern: He will face a tough confirmation battle in the Senate. Our governor (Bentley) was a Never Trumper and fear he will appoint a cuckservative as a replacement
Would the special election be held before November 2018? I would hate to stake the Senate majority on another roll of the dice before then. I don't care how safe people think the seat will be. Personalities come into play, the candidate can have a brain fart and says something stupid (or something made to look and sound stupid after editing), voters would have a chance to react against Trump, skeletons come out of closets, the Democrats might find a superstar, etc. Too many things can go wrong. If it were up to me, I would NOT risk the seat.
CNN is fake news. Says Sessions is a racist.

Governor appoints a replacement who serves until the 2018 election. And the governor is a Republican yes?
Ted Cruz needs to just be the senator from Texas, and be reelected to prove they still want him.
He handled himself poorly in this election process, exposing petty and vindictive traits that make him untrustworthy to the TRUMP administration at this time.
Sean Spicer on Morning Joe just said a number of positions will be announced today, maybe this morning.
President Trump has read “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene. What an excellent book. ;)
HOORAY Mr. Donald J. Trump. WOOOHOOO Jeff Sessions.

The choice of Sessions to be the nation's top prosecutor is sure to be controversial.

Republican National Committee spokesman Sean Spicer, who is involved in the Trump presidential transition, would not confirm the reports on CNN. "Until Donald Trump says it, it's not official," Spicer said.
Unless the new GOP Senator is an open borders type squish when it comes to immigration.
What about his seat? Is it safe?
Fantastic pick.
As an Alabama resident, I can assure you that a Democrat can never win a statewide race here. I’m afraid of a RINO being appointed and turning into Linda Graham. Just say NO to Martha Roby and Bradley Byrne. Mo Brooks or my Congressman Gary Palmer would be a good choice.
Put Cruz on SCOTUS. Gets him out of Senate where he has a hard time getting along and puts a Constitutionalist on the bench for a generation.
The element of surprise coupled with "You're going to be so sick of winning"
I LOVE it.
If it’s true, and if he accepts, is he tough enough to face the Clinton Crime Family? He seems so NICE.
I think Republican governor Bentley appoints.
It does seem bizarre. One thing I did notice this morning: Just as with the campaign, Trump has taken control of the news cycle. I'm glad Samantha and Matt and all the rest of them are talking about this instead of praising Anarchists!
Haha
